Trimming and processing the lining when sewing trousers with your own hands

In most cases, lining is needed only for PP.

The lining is trimmed after processing the warehouse, tucks and WTO (“step pull”, “knee tie”, “arrow”).

The lining for the RFP may be needed only if underwear is visible through the fabric (this is unacceptable in men's clothing) or the customer has very thin or disproportionately thin legs. In the second case, the lining should give a visual "filling" of the trousers.

The order of work when sewing trousers

We start the undercut by laying the prepared PP on the lining fabric folded in half. At the same time, if it is necessary to save money, the share can pass across the lining part. But the length here cannot be cut - the bottom should be below the level of the knee by 15 - 20 cm (Fig. 4a).

If the goal is to hide the translucence of the fabric, then the length of the lining should be equal to the length of the trousers.

The width of the lining must protrude at least 1,5 см. A fold is laid at the waist with a width exceeding 0,5 - 1 cm the width of the PP warehouses or the solution of its tuck. In the corner between the bow cut and the allowance for the fastener, a notch is made and the allowance is turned with further release of the piping from the lining and fixing the latter with a finishing line (Fig. 4 b). Then the warehouse (or tuck) of the PP and the warehouse, laid along the waist section of the lining, are fastened with cross stitches. Of course, if the PP fold is laid to the right of the iron, then the liner on the lining should be located to the left of it in order to avoid overlapping allowances.

The remaining sections are connected to the PP with oblique basting stitches of length 5 - 6 cm. The distance of the basting line from the cuts of the PP is not less than 1,5 см, otherwise the basting will be difficult to remove. By the way, the basting is removed no earlier than after grinding the side and step seams.
