How to determine the type of posture

To determine the type of posture, you will probably have to repeat everything about taking measurements.

Since the type of physique in posture is determined by the tailor solely by measurements.

Of course, we can also say by eye: “he has a chest with a wheel”, or “she is very stooped”, about someone we will say “swallowed a stake” (Fig. 1).

If Dtp is greater than Ds by 4-6 cm, Ws = Wg or Ws is greater than Wg by 0,5-1 cm, then the posture is considered normal for sizes from 44 to 50.

For large sizes (from 52nd), the difference between Wc and Wg measurements for figures with normal posture will be 5-6 cm.

If the difference between Dpt and Ds is less than 4-5 cm, and Shs is 1,5-2 cm more than Shg, the figure can be considered conditionally inclined.

If the difference between Dpt and Ds is more than 5-6 cm, and Shg is 1-2 cm wider than Shs, the figure can be considered conditionally kinked.

Keep in mind that 70-80 percent of people have a sloping physique.

Not only the choice of styles, but also the values ​​​​in some formulas depend on the type of physique.

For example, when building a shawl or English collar, you need to know for sure the type of customer's posture.

Many cutters working in the field of individual tailoring go even further in studying the typology of figures and add dozens of their own measurements to the common measurements, which allow measuring and fixing literally all the details and features of the customer's figure.

At first glance, this is the right approach, but its disadvantage is the complexity and lack of a presentation and teaching methodology that is convenient for students to understand.

In addition, in most cases it is enough to confine ourselves to additional measurements of the middle seam of the back.
