4. How to cut a dress with a shawl collar in large and small sizes according to the pattern

This style does not imply any variability, so cutting is quite simple (picture 2).

Seam allowances for the most part 1 cm. The exception is the allowance on the bottom of the dress and sleeves - 2,5 - 3 cm. On the cuts of the armholes, the neck, the cut of the collar and on the collar, as well as on the detachable (inner) cut of the selection, seam allowances are not added.

Particular attention should be paid to the allowance for the collar turning cut (outer cut, shawl edge, flying cut). Along the edge of the shawl on the shelf, we add an allowance of 0,7 - 1 cm, and along the edge of the shawl of the selection - 1 - 1,2 cm, that is, we increase the allowance by 0,2 cm in order to fit when turning.

The pick-up, both the upper and lower one-piece parts, it is desirable to duplicate with a thin doubler.

When cutting, the fabric folds in half across the cut, in other words, the fold goes along the transverse thread.

After cutting, it is necessary to perform notches (on 2 drawing they are marked with scissors). Notches are made in the corners of the shelf and the edge.
If the seam allowances are not cut in these places, the processing will not work.

In addition to them, notches can be used to mark the elbow tuck on the sleeve, the fold of the lapel, the half-skid and the edge of the side. These notches are not so important, but their application allows you to reduce the time for marking mirror parts.

5. How to sew a dress - a bathrobe with your own hands step by step

The sequence of sewing on household sewing machines at home:

1. We start, as usual, with the processing of pockets: we grind the entrance to the pocket, cut the allowances, iron it, make a finishing line; we put a burlap valance, perform bartacks and grind off the burlap, overcast it and iron the pocket.
2. Duplicate selection. We iron the lower part of the selection.
3. We assemble (grind, overcast, iron or iron) the back and the shelf - we simply sew the barrel to the shelf and grind the middle seam of the shawl. We iron.
4. Sweep and lightly iron the side seams.
5. We collect the sleeve.
6. Fitting. At the fitting, we specify the degree of fit, cut the armhole according to the figure, outline the points of conjugation of the sleeve with the armhole, along which we draw in the sleeve and try it on again.
7. We grind the middle seam of the shawl of the selection, iron it.
8. We grind the upper part of the selection, iron it.
9. Before turning the collar, we sew air loops to the board.
10. We turn the collar.
11. Try again to beat off the length.
12. We process the bottom.
13. Finishing ironing.
