Description of the design of the pattern of a women's quilted trapeze jacket with a hood
This jacket has an asymmetrical cut and an A-line silhouette.
It’s worth mentioning separately about the clasp – it is asymmetrical and follows a concave line. A valance is provided for processing.
If the fastener is with a zipper, the valance should be cut out separately from the right shelf, if the fastener is with buttons, the valance should be one-piece.
The collar is also asymmetrical, allowing the zipper to extend all the way to the top of the collar.
Attaching the hood to the jacket is done with buttons or snaps.
The design is made on a base with a side bust dart.
The sleeve is non-stop, that is, the sleeve is distributed evenly across the armhole. When basting, you should pay attention to the fact that the sleeve and side seams should not coincide.
What to use to make a warm women's quilted trapezoid jacket with a hood
The ideal kit for sewing this jacket model would be a ready-made quilted raincoat fabric and lining fur on a knitted base.
A reversible jacket made of sandwich knitwear also has a right to exist.
The consumption for the “top” will be from 150 to 210 cm with a width of 150 cm.
The consumption of the “lining” is the same.

How to cut a warm women's jacket with a hood from quilted fabric using a ready-made pattern
The cutting of the “top” is very simple, but the fabric is laid out in one layer “face up”.
Unpaired asymmetrical patterns are laid out with the inscriptions facing up, as in the pictures 2 or 3.
The cutting of the lining layer is done in the same way, but on the wrong side.
Seam allowances are 1 cm. Exceptions: armhole, neckline and sleeve cap - they are without allowances.
Another exception is the pocket. At the entrance to the pocket - up to 3 cm. As mentioned above, the dimensions of the finished pocket are 18 by 18 cm. Therefore, when cut out - 20 by 24 cm.
After cutting, we mark the half-skid and make notches at the waist level, at the highest point of the edge and along the half-skid. We mark the half-skid with white thread using an interfacing stitch - this is necessary for fitting.
How to sew
- Assemble the "top". If a zipper is provided, then including attaching the zipper. When assembling, please note that the dart, shoulder and side seams must be assembled first. Then - the sleeve.
The sleeve cap is evenly distributed over the armhole, but first you must align the shoulder point and the highest point of the sleeve.
The sleeve and side seams DO NOT MATCH!
This is done to prevent too much thickening under the arms. - Assemble the lining.
- Connect.
- Assemble the hood.
