Another video master class on cutting technique.
This time you will learn how to put into practice the simplest modeling techniques and use the knowledge of designing clothes if there is not enough fabric for cutting ...
Such questions arise quite often if you buy fabrics for the future, and not for a specific product, and you still have rags from two or three long-sewn things.
I cut a turtleneck-hoodie from the remnants of knitwear.

As you can see, I did quite a lot of machine embroidery on them and the pictures turned out to be quite hard, so I won’t be able to fold the fabric in half, observing accuracy.
You have to cut in a turn.
I already know that the striped jersey is not enough for the back.
So I just cut off the part of the back piece that doesn't fit the width of my piece of fabric.
And the shelf does not run along the length and I also cut it off.
I apply the trimmed pattern of the back to the middle line of the embroidered pattern, press down with weights and cut it out without seam allowances.
The middle line of the shelf (half skid) is marked with a thread. The upper point of the semi-skid is also marked.
I lay the shelf pattern according to this thread marking and attach to it the fragment that I cut off from the back.
Stretch doesn't need much precision, but I try to be accurate.
I cut one side first.
Then I lay the shelf on the other side of the half-skid and repeat the process.
As for the notch in the middle, I'm not sure yet, since the design with a notch is suitable for unstable stretch, and my embroidery holds the shelf. I'll think more...
I cut the sleeves from the remnants that remain.
A little striped and a little plain fabric.
To support the combination idea, I will cut the sleeve pattern lengthwise along the midline.
The front half will be striped, and the back half will be solid.
The video lesson, as you can see, is very simple, most importantly, do not forget to glue the parts of the patterns back-to-back after use, because it is quite possible that you will need other changes for another product.
