Description of the design of the pattern of a blouse, top, bodice for a dress

Drawing patterns for a lace blouse, top or bodice of a dress according to a finished pdf patternContrary to the appearance, this is a fairly simple pattern with a relief on the shelf (picture 1). Fragments of the upper part of the sleeve are "added" to the armhole. The rest of the sleeve is remodeled for assembly along the upper cut.

In the drawing, the assembly area is indicated by hatching.

The bodice-top blouse is complemented by a high stand-up collar and a high cuff.

Once again, it is worth recalling that the photo shows a variant of a cropped top, while the pattern is made to the waist. The top should be shortened when trying on.

How to cut simple dresses and blouses without patterns of skirts and peplums

This pattern can be used to sew a blouse with a peplum-Tatyanka in the form of a transverse strip of fabric, the length of which is equal to the width of the fabric, and the length is arbitrary.

A similar peplum is used in a jacket - see how to cut a jacket or blouse with a peplum-tatyanka

By the same principle, you can use this pattern for cutting and sewing dresses with a Tatyana skirt, where the skirt is a strip or two strips of fabric.

You can also modify the Tatyanka skirt with a difference in length. See how to cut a dress with a Tatyanka skirt with a difference in length

Sewn lace blouse with your own hands according to the finished patternIn addition, almost all patterns of skirts are suitable for the pattern of this bodiceincluded in the set of cut-off dresses (cut-off at the waist).

Separately, it is worth mentioning the use of this bodice in dresses for overweight, as well as for pregnant women.

It is worth remembering that this bodice can be easily shortened on fitting.

In this case, you can use a skirt pattern from a cut-off dress under the bust.

What to sew and how to calculate fabric consumption

You can sew a blouse, dress or top according to this ready-made pattern from various types of fabrics.

First of all, various lace fabrics are suitable - stretch and stable.

Lace top photo by patternNatural linen fabrics are ideal for embroidery, as well as poplin, chintz, thin denim (preferably without elastane).

Silk fabrics can also be used.

Do not forget about the combined options, when the stand-up bodice and cuffs are cut out of dense fabric, and the sleeve is made of organza or chiffon. The skirt in these cases can be both light and “conditionally heavy”.

Consumption with a width of 140 - 150 cm ranges from 110 to 180 cm. Calculations are made for a full length bodice.

If you plan to cut a dress, you need to calculate the expense for a skirt separately.

How to cut a blouse, top or summer dress according to a finished pattern

How to cut one ready-made pattern for a lace blouse with a sleeve, a top and a dress Fig 2Attention! this description does not cover the cutting of the bodice made of lace elements and the cutting of the bodice on the cover.

You should start cutting by determining the style of the top, blouse or dress. Perhaps this is the biggest difficulty - to think over and measure everything before starting the main work. It is possible that this stage will take as much time as cutting directly.

At the stage of reflection, it is worth checking that the pattern matches your height. This applies to both the length of the bodice and the length of the sleeve, which should be measured from the shoulder point to the wrist through the bent elbow.

When calculating the length of the sleeve, consider the length of the cuff and the overlap of 4 - 8 cm.

The length of the bodice is determined by measurements Back length to waist - Dst and Shelf length to waist - Dpt.

Measurements of the figure may reveal that the length of the back and / or front of the bodice needs to be corrected. This is called "characteristics". To take them into account, you need to try on the bodice, even if you are sewing a cropped top, not a dress.

What is needed for a successful fitting?

Sufficiently large waist allowance (picture 2) - 3 - 4 cm and a linen elastic band, with which we must gird the figure in order to accurately mark the waist.

Do-it-yourself bodice pattern for a summer dressIn other words, the allowance is needed in order to qualitatively gird.

Other allowances are usual - 1 - 1,2 cm.

We do not add allowances for the cut of the armhole and for the collar.

For cuffs and collars, which are recommended to be cut out after trying on, we add an allowance from the side of the connection with the neck and sleeve, if we have a lace product or a product with a necklet. Clasp allowance - 1,5 cm.

If a button fastening is planned, then an additional allowance will be required, but due to the design of the middle seam, such fasteners are undesirable. Unless, strips will be sewn to the seam, the width of which in finished form is 1,5 cm. In the seam of sewing to the right half of the back there are gaps for loops.

Separately, it is worth mentioning the notches, which make the processing of a one-piece "sleeve" possible (Fig. 2). As you can see, the notch is made at the border of the sleeve and the armhole on the back and the sleeve and the relief on the shelf.

Notch length - 0,7 cm, that is, slightly less than the width of the seam allowance. If the notch is longer, it will have to be turned into a small tuck (and this is not critical for many lace fabrics), but if it is shorter, then the sleeve cannot be connected to the bodice.

Do-it-yourself pattern of a blouse, top or bodice for a summer dress made of lace fabricAn approximate layout of the bodice on the fabric is shown in 3 drawing, while the fabric is folded in half, the edges are aligned and parallel to the edge of the cutting table.

Bodice patterns are laid out taking into account the shared direction and allowances for seams.

On the 4 drawing shows one of the possible options for cutting lace fabric.

What you should immediately pay attention to: lace fabrics are different, therefore, approaches to cutting can be different, but in any case, it is important that the semi-skid (middle line of the shelf) passes through the center of the lace motif (rapport).

It is especially important to carefully approach the location of the cuffs and collar, the open cut of which should pass into the teeth of the lace.

For expensive lace, it is advisable to use a bodice pattern that has already been tested and corrected during the fitting. That is, cut out of coarse calico, try on, make a correction and “dissolve” the bodice into patterns.

Photo of a do-it-yourself lace blouse with a sleeve according to a finished patternAt a minimum, it is worth cutting out duplicate patterns from paper.

On the 4 drawing the position of the half-skid and the stand is taken into account, as well as the bottom of the top, the bottom of the cuff and the top of the stand end with lace scallops. The rest of the details are mirrored.

As mentioned above, it is better to cut out the raven after the fitting or cut it out immediately from the mock-up fabric.

When cutting, it is also important to remember the amount of lace and non-lace parts.

Lace or lace cuffs are needed - 2 parts, and not from lace lace fabric - 4 parts; a collar made of lace or a necklet will need one, and not made of lace fabric - 2 parts - upper and lower.

How to sew a blouse, top or dress from one simple ready-made pattern

If you have thought through all the details of the style before cutting, then sewing will seem quite simple to you. Whatever you sew, most of the sewing sequence points will match.

The further description is given taking into account the typical mistakes of home couturiers.

  1. After completing the notches, we collect the bodice. We iron, ironing the seams. In the middle seam of the back, you can make a zipper or a button fastener if you have provided a bar for it, as mentioned above. For fastening on air loops, a gap is required.
  2. Sleeve - one seam and gathering in the marked area. Please note that it is better to make the assembly uneven - more towards the center and less towards the cuts of the armhole.
  3. We connect the cuffs from the mock-up fabric with the bottom of the sleeve, since it is better to check the length of the sleeve again during the fitting.
  4. We connect the sleeve with the armhole. Please note that the seam of the sleeve does not have to match the side seam of the bodice.
  5. Trying on: checking the balance of the bodice, top or blouse; if necessary, cut the neck; We tie the figure with a linen elastic band and outline the waist. Attention! the waist in a dress or blouse may not be parallel to the bottom of the bodice. Do not fit the waist under the bodice! In the fitting of a cropped top, we outline its lower cut.
  6. After making adjustments, measure the neck and cut out the collar, based on its length. Not from the size figure, but from the required neck length, which you corrected during the fitting.
  7. We fasten the collar. If you are sewing a dress or top with a peplum, we connect the bodice with the skirt and you can carry out a second fitting. Top - you can finish.
  8. On the second fitting of a dress or blouse, we again evaluate the balance, fit of the collar and measure the bottom from the floor, if the length is without trains and drops.
  9. After the second fitting, the dress and blouse can be finished.
