3. Description of the styles of patterns of tunics - shirts of large volume
Two fairly simple styles of loose blouses that can be worn under tight jeans, leggings or a narrow straight skirt are presented in one set of patterns.
The choice of variation, as well as the choice of size - to your taste.
It can be a blouson with a one-piece long back, without a collar and fasteners (in the photo - a white tunic-shirt).
Or with a back on a yoke and with a clasp (in the photo - a striped shirt).
At the same time, the shelf can be with a convex bottom or with a concave one.
The beach version of the tunic can be sewn without a cuff.
Please note that a thin girl can choose the largest size, and a curvy lady can choose the smallest.
In order not to be mistaken, compare the dimensions of the finished pattern with the size of a similar finished product. For example, with a loose blouse.
4. From what to sew oversized tunics for jeans and how much fabric is consumed
The choice of fabrics for both styles is quite large.
Let's start with cambric - it can be plain or printed. An embroidered fabric is also suitable.
Staple, dress satin, dress and shirt chintz, poplin, chiffon, muslin, and other thin or very thin fabrics may work. Of course, the processing may change slightly.
It is worth emphasizing that preference should be given to light weight fabrics with a high content of natural fibers. Without synthetic or artificial fibers, the fabric will shrink a lot. And without natural or with a low content of them, it will be literally heavy and, possibly, uncomfortable in the heat.
Theoretically, such blouses - tunics can be sewn from thin woolen fabrics and from thin jeans, but they will look different than in the photo.
Consumption depends not so much on the size, but on the choice of style option. In the vast majority of cases with a concave bottom of the shelf, the flow rate is within 160 - 180 cm with a width of 150 cm.
To make sure the calculations are correct, lay out the patterns before buying fabric.

6. How to cut shirts - tunics according to a ready-made pattern for sewing at home
We proceed, of course, after the final choice of style and size variations.
Seam allowances 1 cm except for the neckline.
The dimensions of the cuff in the cut provide for the presence of allowances for seams.
Width cut cuff = two finished widths + 2 cm.
Length cut cuff = finished length + 2 cm.
What is the length of the cuff should be finished? We measure on the shoulder freely and get from 30 to 45 cm.
The cuff can be made detachable with a button or whole on an elastic band (Fig. 3 on the link).
Open the white tunic (picture 2). The layout is the usual "jack".
You can only add that in order to save fabric, the shelf or back should have a middle seam. In this case, to simplify the processing of the “triangular” neck, the middle seam is on the shelf. It is processed last.
striped tunic (picture 3) with a back on the yoke has a fastener in front, therefore, we add an allowance to the line of the edge of the side - 3 - 4 cm, so that it is enough for a double hem.
The back is without a seam, and the yoke is with a seam. In this case, it is desirable to carefully combine the strips.
Share is indicated on the patterns.
7. How to sew a large “dimensionless” tunic with your own hands - a sequence for individual tailoring
Let's start with the general points.
Seams can be processed in several ways:
- Stitch and overcast on an overlocker. This is the most unsuitable method for processing thin fabrics, but if the fabric is not very thin, then it can be used.
- Edging of cuts after stitching with an oblique inlay. This method is good for highly wrinkled and "shapeless" fabrics. For example, for muslin or staple.
- A stitching (linen) seam is well suited for both batiste and staple or dress satin, as well as for shirt or dress chintz.
- Double (French) stitch - suitable for most thin fabrics, but when sewing seams on products made from chiffon, crepe de chine and cambric, a narrow zigzag stitch is used instead of a straight stitch. Stitch-cut-turn-stitch - in any case, the seam pattern remains unchanged.
Having dealt with the processing options, we move on to the sequence of the white tunic.
- Stitch the shoulder seams, assemble the facing (if the neckline is turned with a facing, and not with an oblique trim. Iron the seams.
- Prepare cuffs.
- Stitch the neck.
- Middle seam, side seams.
- Gathering at the bottom of the sleeve and stitching the cuffs.
- Bottom processing.
Consider the sequence of sewing a striped tunic.
- Assemble the back.
- Iron the sides - double hem.
- Shoulder seams.
- Process the collar and prepare the cuffs.
- Side seams.
- Stitch the collar.
- Gather on sleeves and sew cuffs.
- Process the bottom.
- Processing the sides with finishing lines is the easiest option.
- 10. Loops and buttons.
