How to cut an Italian blouse

Cutting this model is not difficult.

But before proceeding, you should choose the sleeve option and take the measurement of the “shoulder girth” over the arms pressed to the body, as shown in the phototo accurately select the blouse size and sleeve width.

The measurement is recorded in half size. For example, your “shoulder girth” was 100 cm. We write down 50 and measure the sum of the lengths of the upper sections of the back, sleeve and shelf.

If the sum of the lengths of all three sections is more than 50 cm, a fold should be laid on the sleeve pattern. If less than 50, then you can use the Broad Shoulder Sleeve (picture 1).

Let's dwell on what variations of the style of the sleeve are possible (picture 1) - a one-piece sleeve or a sleeve of two halves.

As you can see, the correction of the pattern for the features of the figure is very simple.

Next, we will consider additional correction options that will help you fine-tune the volume of the product, based on the extensibility of the fabric.

So, when the option and size of the sleeve are selected, you can start cutting.

If you chose a sleeve from two halves, then it will be more convenient to make these halves double (picture 2).

Seam allowances

Allowances 1 cm with the exception of the cut of the armhole. We do not add an allowance along the armhole, since any allowance will make the armhole shorter.

How to sew a blouse with your own hands step by step

1. The fabric is folded in half face to face, the parts are stacked in the most economical way with respect to the shared direction. Cut out the front, back and sleeves. The plank is not cut yet.
2. We make sleeves - we grind the bottom, iron it, sweep away the raw sections.
3. We process the slot on the shelf. It is desirable to turn it over.
4. Side seams are sewn and ironed. If you are sewing a blouse from knitwear, then we use a knitted overlock stitch for stitching. For a blouse made of staple, cambric and thin linen - a sewing seam. For natural silk - double with a zigzag.
5. We roll up the sleeves. On the bottom, you can put the ends of the halves on top of each other.
6. We measure the top cut.
7. We cut out the "oblique bar" along the length of the upper cut of the blouse. Please note that you should not strictly adhere to the oblique direction.
8. We process the ends of the "oblique bar". To make the ends (“lugs”) turn out well, after turning them, cut off the excess width of the allowance and notch in the place where the “lugs” go into the bar. Iron the plank halves.
9. Baste the placket halves to the top of the blouse and baste the middle back seam.
10. By trying on, you can now precisely adjust the volume of the blouse and change the outline of the middle seam. For example, add a lumbar deflection.
11. It remains to sew on the sleeves, sew on the bar, sew the middle seam and process the bottom of the blouse.
