How to cut a trapeze sundress with seam allowances

As usual, before cutting, we compare the length of the pattern with the desired one. To do this, measure Du (skirt length) along the side of the thigh from the waist down and compare it with the length of the skirt of the sundress.

Shorten or lengthen the pattern if necessary.

The most suitable options are facing or double bodice.

Which option to choose - facing or bodice?

Facing is suitable for a regular summer sundress, and a double bodice - if you need "bones" or bones with cups.

Facing or "lower" bodice should be cut according to the same patterns as the rest of the details (picture 2).

We cut out the facings or the “lower” bodice first from doubler without seam allowances. Then, after gluing the adhesive parts to the fabric, allowances should be added.

1. Stitch, overcast and iron the relief and side seams.
