Sewing difficulty level: simple, that is, a dress pattern for beginners is only suitable if you have skills in knitting sleeves.

Another dress with a trapeze silhouette. Suitable not only for slender, but also for full figures and is considered one of the most successful women's patterns created by clothing designers.

The set of patterns includes: a back pattern with two cutout options, a shelf pattern, and two patterns of sleeves - a straight one with an assembly along the bottom, as in the photo, and with assemblies along the collar and along the bottom (Fig. 1).

In addition, the patternA-line dress with neckline and bow 2and "bow" are presented in 20 lengths.

For tailoring, a stable thin and always double-sided fabric of a dress assortment is suitable. Crepe chiffon and fine silk are preferred.

Consumption depends on the size, length of the product and the length of the "bow". With a width of 140 cm, the consumption can be approximately two to two and a half product lengths.

How cutA-line dress with neckline and bow 3dress "a-line with a neckline and a bow"

Due to the impossibility of a preliminary calculation of consumption, it is strongly recommended to lay out the patterns BEFORE purchasing fabric.

As seen in fig. 2, when cutting small and medium sizes, the front and back "pass" into the same width of the fabric. And large sizes (Fig. 3), the shelf and back of which will not fit into the same width of the fabric, even with a “jack”, will definitely require an expense that exceeds two lengths of the product.

The “bow” detail in any case significantly increases the consumption of fabric and therefore the length of the “bow” pattern must be known exactly.

To do this, before cutting, you should decide on the length of the dress.

By the way, according to these patterns, you can sew not only a dress, but also a blouse and a tunic.

When you know the length of the product, measure the middle seam of the back and, based on its length, cut a test bow from thin interlining or polyethylene to find out exactly the length of the finished part you need.

On it, you can see how much extra length or how much is missing.

After finding out the lengths of all parts, including the sleeve, the patterns can be laid out, as shown in fig. 2 - for small sizes or as in fig. 3 - if the size is medium or large.A-line dress with neckline and bow 4

If this is a preliminary layout, then it can be carried out on any piece of fabric of a suitable width or simply by laying out two ribbons or ropes in parallel at a distance of 70 cm.

When placing patterns, in addition to the shared direction, allowances for seams must also be taken into account.

A-line dress with neckline and bow 5In this case, they are ordinary: shoulder-side - 1 cm; front-back seams of the sleeve - 1 cm; on the bottom of the dress is about 3 cm, but it depends on the method of processing the bottom you choose.

On the collar, armholes, neckline and back cutout, allowances are NOT added. And above the tuck we make a “house” - an allowance protruding by a corner.

There is no need for allowances for a bow, since it must be either pickled, or edged - both methods of processing the edge do not change the dimensions of the part.

Another important allowance is along the middle seam of the back. Please note: on the pattern of the back there is a marking of the middle seam (curved line) and the middle line (straight).

So, we need the middle straight line only in order to accurately determine the fractional direction of the part. And when processing the back, it is desirable to use the middle seam.

Excess allowance can be cut off already in the process of processing up to 1 - 1,5 cm.

Now about how to sew ...

Stitch and iron the tuck of the shelf. Fold both halves of the "bow" as they should be in finished form and, without connecting them together, sweep them in the form of halves of a bow.

Then baste each half to the left and to the right half of the back. How to do it? Watch the video tutorial on sewing!

Baste the side-shoulder seams and try on the dress. Make changes if necessary.

After trying on, the shoulder seams can be finished, and the neckline and armholes can be edged or finished. oblique trim (without edging).

When the open sections are edged, you can process the side and middle seams, tuck in the sleeve and try on the dress again.

About tucking in the sleeves without gathering along the collar watch video master class and read the details.

If you have chosen a sleeve with an assembly along the collar, then I can offer you another sewing video tutorial.

On the bottom of the sleeve, you should perform folds or assembly and then turn over in the way you have chosen.

The bottom of the dress can be processed as Moscow seam, and in a hem with a closed cut, using a device or without it.

And if we sew ourselves, pattern of children's dress "trapeze" it can also come in handy for us, especially since after cutting your dress there will be pretty decent scraps of fabric left.

So do not save too much on fabric, because sewing is free!
