How to cut a coat with your own hands according to a pattern at home

First, let's look at how to make lining and selection patterns using ready-made coat patterns (picture 2).

The details of the back will be enough to combine. And for the shelf, I recommend making duplicates and then combining the middle part and the barrel. Draw an arbitrary smooth curved line on the middle part of the shelf and cut off the edge. The width of the selection along the shoulder is 5 - 6 cm, along the bottom - 12 - 14 cm.

Cutting the details of the "top" is not difficult. To reduce processing time and improve quality, it is desirable to combine the parts of the shelf and the pick so that the pick is one-piece, as shown in the pictures. 3 и 4.

The share thread of the shelf, as usual, runs along the line of the edge of the bead. The lobar back coincides with the midline and fold. The share barrel is perpendicular to the waistline, but very high accuracy is not required for this part, deviations of a couple of degrees are acceptable.

The lobar side of the hood is parallel to the "front" line, and for the middle part - parallel to the middle line of the part. For the upper half of the sleeve - the share must necessarily pass through two points of the front seam, and for the lower half it does not matter much, although this part should not be cut across.

From fabrics in a cage, the barrel of the shelf and the middle or side part of the hood can be cut along an oblique thread.

Seam allowances are normal. Let me remind you that you should not make allowances for the armholes, sprout and neck, as well as for the departure cut of the pick. At the bottom of the product we add 3 - 3,5 cm, at the bottom of the sleeve - 3, along the "front" cut of the hood also 3 cm. Along the line of entry into the pocket for the part "barrel of the shelf" you will also need an allowance of 4 - 5 cm - it is needed to process a pocket without a detail of the gap. The remaining allowances are 1 - 1,5 cm.

On the 3 drawing an approximate layout of small sizes is shown, and on 4 drawing - big ones.

When cutting, it is important to pay attention to the fact that the pattern of the middle part of the hood is turned and therefore you will need only this part.

And to save money, it is important to know that the lower half of the sleeve can be cut out of two parts, placing an additional stitch above the level of the elbow.

For the largest sizes, a one-piece pick-up can also be made with an additional stitch (picture 4).

When cutting dublerin, which is cut out according to the same patterns without seam allowances, the share thread repeats the share of the duplicated parts.

Do not forget that there should be an indent of 0,5 cm between the details of the dubbing of the shelf and the selection, which will help the ironed board to keep its shape well.

We duplicate the back to the level of the shoulder blades, below is not necessary.

Cutting the lining is not difficult - the fabric is also folded in half, the edges are aligned, and the patterns are laid out in the most economical way (picture 5).

At the bottom of the lining we add - 5 - 6 cm, if the lining is detachable and the hem is double or 4 - 5, if the lining is closed. Do not forget also a double allowance (2 - 2,5 cm) to the cut of the shelf, which is connected to the selection.
