4. How to cut a women's bomber jacket using a simple ready-made pattern

Let's start by explaining how to cut a shelf, pick up and lining a shelf in one pattern (picture 2).

When cutting the shelf along the line of the pick-up, which is marked on it, we get the patterns of the pick-up and lining. If desired, the tuck for the chest can be closed, but you can leave it - you still can’t do without a tuck.

Those who will use the classic sleeve pattern should be reminded that the pattern of this sleeve can be used repeatedly if it is cut out of paper in a certain way (figure 2 on the right).

The fractional thread of the upper half of the sleeve must pass strictly through the upper and lower points of the front cut. For the lower half, the share may deviate a couple of degrees. In addition, the lower half may consist of parts - dots.

It should also be noted that the classic two-seam sleeve is “tough” only by a couturier with very confident sewing skills.

After you have decided on the length of the jacket and adjusted the patterns for it, we proceed to cutting.

The layout of the details of the "top" (picture 3) is very simple - "jack". Only the rectangular “part for simple belt processing” requires explanation.

In fact, this is a fragment of a belt made of the “top” fabric. Fragment of the belt (hereinafter referred to as the "fragment"), which is adjacent to the lightning.

The width of the fragment in finished form - at the discretion of the couturier - 8 - 14 cm, depending on the desire and size.

The formulas for calculating the width (vertically, across the girdle) and length (horizontally, along the girdle) of a fragment in the nest look like this:

Fragment Width = Double Finished Width + 2cm

Fragment length = finished length + 2 cm

Cuffs are calculated in the same way, but cutting from a dovyaz has slightly different rules. Let's continue about the details of the "top".

Seam allowances - 1 cm. We do not add only along the neck, armholes and rim. Above the tuck - "house".

The fabric is folded in half, the edges are aligned and the patterns are laid out in the most economical way, but taking into account the shared direction.

The cutting of the lining does not differ from the cutting of the “top”, except that an extra 2-3 cm should be added along the bottom for a better free distribution of the lining.

Now about cutting the collar, cuffs and belt.

It is best to perform it after the "top" is assembled in order to measure the length of the neck of the product.

For a better fit, the collar should be 5-8 cm shorter than the neck, depending on the density and stretch of the cuff.

Both the belt and cuffs should be somewhat shorter. It is very easy to determine the length of the cuff by wrapping the tie around the wrist, and the length of the belt by wrapping the tie around the hips or waist.

But if we turn to the formulas, then

Cuff (belt) width in cutting = finished width + 2 cm

The length of the cuff (belt) in the cutting ˂ girth of the wrist (hips)

In other words, the collar, cuffs and waistband should be somewhat stretched on the figure.

For cutting, the cuff fabric is folded in half, if you cut from a cuff-pipe, then there are already folds.

Pay attention to the collar pattern - it has two folds - along and across. Therefore, we circle the collar pattern twice (Fig. 4 above). Then, mark the stripes of the belt and cuffs.
