How to cut a do-it-yourself boho-style skirt-trousers according to a simple ready-made pattern

As usual, cutting begins with choosing the size of the trousers, based on the semi-circumference of the hips (Sb), measured at the most protruding points of the buttocks and abdomen, and from the desired volume of the product.

Please note that the thicker and heavier the fabric, the smaller the volume of the trouser skirt should be.

That is, for sewing trousers made of very thin fabric, a girl of size 40 can choose a size 52 pattern.

If you are sewing a skirt-pants, for example, from thick natural denim or jersey, choose the size so that the increase in the hips is within 4, maximum 6 cm.

The fabric is folded in half and face to face (picture 2). The edges are aligned and positioned parallel to the edge of the cutting table.

The patterns are laid out in accordance with the direction of the shared thread indicated on them. When cutting PP, bend the corner of the pattern along the line of entry into the pocket.

If cutting is made from velveteen, then the pile on all parts should be directed upwards.

Seam allowances 1 cm. Exceptions: no allowance is added along the waist; on the bottom - 2,5 - 3 cm; along the sections of the entrance to the pocket - 0,7 - 1 cm.

The belt can consist of two parts.

The size of the belt rectangle in the nest is as follows:

Width = 2 finished belt widths + 2 cm

The recommended belt width in finished form is 5 - 7 cm.

Do not forget on both PPs and on the details of the burlap-valance on the front side, mark the pocket entry lines with threads.

How easy it is to sew a boho-style skirt-trousers with pockets with your own hands

1. Duplicate the entrance to the pocket - glue a strip of dublerin 1 cm wide on the “burlap-turning” part.
2. Turn the entrance into the pocket - grind it, bend the allowances towards the burlap, lay a line on them from the front side, iron the entrance with a peredge. Lay out the finishing line.
3. Place a burlap-valve under the PP, aligning the entry lines into the pocket, pin it off with pins, but rather sweep it, perform the bartacks. Iron on.
4. Compare the PP with the finished pocket with the PP pattern. Get it right - the details of the PP must exactly follow the contour of the pattern with allowances for seams.
5. Start the burlap - both burlaps must be congruent so that there are no distortions when sewing.
6. Stitch and overcast or hem the burlap.
7. Overcast, stitch and iron the side and crotch seams.
8. Overcast, stitch and iron the seam of the seat bow.
9. Process the belt - duplicate, iron in half lengthwise, stitch into a ring and iron the seam. The length of the belt should be equal to the length of the waist section of the trouser skirt. Stitching the belt into a ring, leave unstitched fragments of the seam to pull the lace and elastic band.
10. On the front side of the belt, two loops should be sewn or two blocks should be installed for threading the lace. Lay lines for elastic and lace.
11. Stitch the belt, having previously chipped it with pins with a trouser skirt so that there are no distortions.
12. Pull in the elastic and drawstring.
13. Process the bottom into an open cut hem - overcast, tuck, iron, machine or hand hem.

Advanced home couturiers with sewing experience can sew a skirt-pants with a trouser fastener.
