The fabric was bought on the stock of Italian fabrics with a measured flap - 0,75 meters with a width of 140, I only had enough for size 46. For reasons of economy, I did not make the bar. I am very pleased with the skirt! Thanks for the pattern!"

How to cut this wrap skirt with tulip pockets

Cut the tulip wrap skirts according to the finished pattern with the combination of the valance burlap and the facing burlap into one pieceCutting the skirts of this model is not difficult - the fabric is folded in half face to face, the details of the skirt are laid out taking into account the shared direction (pictures 2 or 3).

When cutting, pay attention to the fact that you need to cut out the upper and lower belt.

Allowances for seams when sewing a skirt according to this pattern

The seam allowances are as follows: add 1 cm to the side seams, the cuts for attaching the strap, to the cuts of the belt and the cuts of the burlap; do not add to the cut of the waist; along the pocket entry line - at least 0,5 - 0,7 cm; on the bottom - 2,5 - 3 cm.

Separately, it is worth mentioning the allowances for the bar. Since the cut of the bar with a protruding angle after stitching will extend the cut of the waist and fall under the belt, we do not add allowances to it. The rest are 1 cm.

Another point that deserves attention regarding the allowances and the fitting of the skirt. Fitting this skirt to your figure is quite simple if you make adjustments along the middle seam of the RFP, which is processed in the penultimate turn, that is, before processing the bottom of the skirt. For girls prone to weight fluctuations, it is recommended to add an extra 1-2 cm to the middle seam of the RFP, to the middle seam of the RF belt - too.

Cut out all the details separately for the tulip wrap skirt according to the finished patternAnd a little more about the rational approach to seam allowances. As you can see, the set of patterns includes two pieces of burlap - burlap-valance and burlap-turning. They can be cut as separate pieces or combined into one, as shown. in figure 2.

It is more convenient to cut burlap with separate details if you are edging the open sections of the product or cutting out burlap-turning from another fabric, for example, from lining or satin. In other cases, the details of the burlap can be combined.

Immediately after cutting, do not forget to mark the half-skid line on both PPs with threads - this line is very important and should be preserved until the skirt is ready.

How to sew a wrap skirt in detail and step by step for beginners

  1. We start with tucking and ironing soft folds on the PP and with the processing of darts with an indispensable thorough ironing on the RFP.
  2. Then we process the pocket: we grind the entrance to the pocket with a burlap-turning, we put a burlap-valance, we make bartacks, we grind and overcast the details of the burlap.
  3. Each operation is accompanied by a thorough ironing of the processed node.
  4. After the pocket, we overcast it on an overlock or turn over the side and middle seam, iron it.
  5. We iron the bar along, having previously duplicated one of its halves to the fold. At the same time, it is desirable that dubbing does not fall into allowances.
  6. We process the bottom of the bar, not forgetting about the iron. As dubbing, it is desirable to use a thin knitted doubler or interlining.
  7. We sew overcast and iron the bar.
  8. The allowance on the bottom of the skirt is still unfinished. Later, he will overtake the bar.
  9. Now comes the crucial moment: you need to impose the right PP on the left, aligning the half-skid and sweep in this position.
  10. We attach a belt to the connected PP, to the RFP too.
  11. We iron the seam.
  12. After that, we grind and iron the side seams, sweep and iron the middle seam of the RFP, leaving the area under the zipper not swept. Lightning is also desirable to take.
  13. After finishing the side seams, the skirt can be tried on to refine the fit at the middle seam. Achieving the perfect fit in this case is not difficult.
  14. At the end of the fitting, we only have to process the middle seam, sew on the zipper, the lower belt and the bottom.
