Features of cutting a wrap skirt according to a do-it-yourself pattern for beginners

This model is suitable for all types and sizes of figures. A deep smell allows you to wear it "both in a feast and in the world ...".

It is made of chiffon or thin silk. Sample, sewn from thin crinkled silk. Shuttlecock assembled (see picture), the upper section of the skirt is edged and an air loop is made from each end of the edging. Thus, the skirt is fastened with two buttons. The open cut of the frill is pickled (see the article "Machine seams" и an article about typing).

Fabric consumption will be: two widths of the frill pattern plus two lengths of the skirt pattern plus 5 cm for seams and edge alignment.

Cutting presents no difficulty:

1. The shuttlecock is cut out without seam allowances, while a fold along the midline is desirable.
2. An allowance of 1 cm is added to the detail of the skirt along the middle seam and along the seam of the frill.
3. The cut of the waist is cut out beyond the line, above the tucks - allowances - "houses".

How to sew a wrap skirt for beginners step by step

1. Sew and iron the middle seam and darts of the skirt.
2. Lay two “weak” lines along the concave cut of the frill and assemble (pull the lines along the length of the lower cut of the skirt).
3. Sweep the skirt and frill, previously chipped with pins. Start chipping and sweeping parts should be from the middle.
4. Check the correctness of the swept and try on the product.
5. Stitch the swept parts, overcast the seam and iron.
6. Fringe the belt, leaving the ends of the fringing 3-4 cm long (operation description see here).
7. From the left ends of the edging, make air loops and sew on buttons. The latter are best sewn onto the edging itself.
