How to cut your own sundresses with an open back

Open the white sundress (Photo 1) is performed in four steps (figures 2 и 3):

1. First cut out the shelfpicture 2).

That is, cutting out a shelf - this is one time, cut off a strip for a skirt, folding the fabric in half - on 2 drawing this operation is at the bottom of the figure. And that's two. The rest of the fabric near the front, which is used to expand the skirt, is leveled - and that's three.

How to cut belts in a sundress

The drawings indicate full-size fastener rectangles without seam allowances, taking into account the fact that they will overlap each other when finished. These details are the same for all sizes. Finished width - 3 cm.

At the same time, the detail of the upper fastener when cutting should be double, that is, taking into account the seam allowances, its width will be 8 cm (see picture 3 in the bubble).

And the lower clasp is a continuation of the belt. Its “lower” fragments are cut with allowances of 1 cm, that is, 5 cm wide, and the “upper” fragments are part of the “upper” belt, the length of which is measured during the fitting, and the width with seam allowances is also 5 cm.

Pay attention to the fact that the belts of the fastener are duplicated and the dubbing is cut out without seam allowances.

Bias inlay is cut out obliquely from the remnants of colored fabric.

How to sew a sundress without a back

Open a sundress without a back (Photo 2) looks almost exactly the same as cutting out the previous model, only the shelf should be double. The slanting inlay is also cut out from the remnants of the fabric.
