Jersey, footer, velor stretch, velsoft and fleece are suitable for sewing.
A-line hoodie is easily sewn on an overlock knitted stitch.
Fabric consumption while maintaining the length of the product:
if the width of the fabric is 180 cm (footer), then the consumption for different sizes will be from 160 to 180 cm;
if the width of the fabric is 150 cm (fleece, velor stretch), then the consumption will be from 190 to 200 cm;
if the width of the fabric is 140 cm, then the consumption will be 210-230 cm.

How to cut a hoodie with a drop in length
Allowances for seams when cutting fabrics can be omitted, since the allowances for loose fit are quite large:
chest gain Pg = 8cm,
increase on the hips Pb = 6 cm.
This means that this hoodie can be worn over a medium-sized sweater and you will have to pay special attention to the choice of size.
See video how to choose the size and read about increases and removal of measurements
Before cutting, it is very important to check the length of the sleeve pattern, as well as the length of the backrest with the desired length.
The layout of the hoodie-trapeze is very simple. On the 2 drawing the layout is shown for a fabric with a width of 180 cm, and on 3 drawing - for a fabric with a width of 150 cm.
In any case, the fabric is folded in half face inward and the patterns are placed taking into account the direction of the shared thread.
You should also pay attention to the fact that the backrest has a deflection for the middle seam, which you can increase if necessary.
To save fabric, the sleeve can be cut out with an additional stitch picture 2). In this case, you should add seam allowances along the seam of the additional stitching. When sewing a jacket with a knitted seam, allowances of 0,7 cm are sufficient.
After the stitching is stitched and the seam is ironed, do not forget to check the resulting sleeves with patterns.
For beginners, cutting the hood can be difficult.
To cut out a double hood with one seam, make a copy of the hood pattern and join end-to-end along the “half-skid” line. Lay on the fold with the “face framing line”.
Let me remind you that the tucks are not cut out and when sewing they can be laid in soft folds, and not grinded.
The half-skid is the middle line of all the details of the front - the shelves and, in this case, the hood. The semi-skid passes through the midline of the body through the jugular cavity and the umbilicus.
How to sew a hoodie with your own hands
We start by assembling the hood.
We iron the workpiece along the fold, folding it inside out, sweeping the folds or grinding the tucks with a straight line or a narrow zigzag.
Darts (folds) are ironed. Attention: in order not to create a thickening in the "upper" hood, we bend the allowance of tucks-folds in one direction, and in the "lower" hood - in the other.
After that, we grind the middle seams of the “upper” and “lower” hood, iron them in different directions, as well as tucks, so as not to create thickening.
Now, you can make a drawstring or just give a finishing line along the line framing the face.
Next, we grind the shoulder seams with a knitted seam. To prevent the jacket from stretching on the shoulders, place an edge of any fabric or special tape under the seam.
Skipping the sleeves! Let's get going right away!

After sewing in the sleeves, we iron the seams and grind the side-sleeve seams, which, in turn, are also ironed.
In the end, we process the bottom. The easiest way is to overcast the bottom with a knit stitch.
