6. How to cut a men's hooded T-shirt according to a finished pattern

Let's start with the preparation of patterns for cutting parts from finishing fabric (picture 2).
If you need to keep the original pattern, it is advisable to make patterns separately.

Assume that the bottom of the "backing" part of the companion fabric should be 4 - 5 cm below the bottom line. Accuracy is not required.

To cut the lower hood, we use a piece of pattern, which can not be cut, just bent along the cut line.

Cuff - a strip of fabric, it is not required to make a pattern. Cuff length - along the length of the sleeve + 2 cm, it is better to cut the excess later.

The width of the cuff in the cut depends on its style - the cuff will be double or single. It is also important to understand how the cuff will be connected to the sleeve - stitched, as usual, or will it “deeply” go under the sleeve.

For a double cuff, width = 2 finished widths + 2 cm for normal stitching.

If the cuff is single, then the width in the cut = the width in the finished form + for processing.

For individual tailoring of T-shirts at home, cutting is best done in stages (picture 3).

First, cut out the shelf and back (lower part figure 3). For the front, the fabric is in one layer, and for the back, it is folded in half.

Then, the hood and sleeve are cut out.

After cutting, mark the lines of cuts and stitches, as well as notches along the middle lines of the back and fronts on the neckline and on the cuts of the bottom.

7. How to sew a T-shirt with a hood step by step

The most important thing is to immediately set up an overlock for a knitted seam (all links above), then everything is very simple. Please note that there are unfinished open sections in this model.

1. Place the backing piece under the shelf, complete the stitches. Decorative cuts can be made immediately or after. Do not cut to the seams by 3 - 5 cm.
2. Stitch the shoulder seams on the overlock, laying the strips of the cooler. The width of the strips is 2 cm. Iron.
3. Stitch the sleeve, evenly distributing the eyelet along the armhole, on the overlock. Iron the seam.
4. Stitch the side seams on the overlocker, iron the seams.
5. Finish and stitch cuffs.
6. Sew the middle seam of the hood and bottom hood. Connect them.
7. Sew on the hood, "cover" the seam with an inlay.
