Sewing and cutting of a one-shoulder cut-off dress

This dress, despite the simplicity of the style and the absence of sleeves, which are the main difficulty in sewing dresses, is not suitable for beginners.

Consider first the cutting and sewing features of the models shown in photos 1 and 2.

To reduce consumption, we perform cutting in three stages (Fig. 2).

First, cut out the bodice, while DO NOT FOLD the fabric in half.

Then, a tulip skirt.

For a skirt, the fabric is folded in half face inward, the edges are parallel between themselves and the edge of the cutting table.

The details of the skirt are stacked "jack", and the width of the layout is determined by the width of the part.

After cutting, we prepare the product for the first fitting: separately the bodice and skirt.

Trying on,we refine the fit of the bodice and the fit of the skirt, outline the line of stitching the skirt and bodice.

Let me remind you that the position of this line can change the perception of the proportions of the figure.

After trying on, we complete the cutting - cut out the shuttlecock, choosing the lines of circles along the length of the cut of the shuttlecock stitching.

We fold the fabric in half if the shuttle is double or do not fold it if the shuttle is single.

You can also use a fragment of a shuttlecock pattern, as shown in photo 2.

The model in photo 3 can be considered as a sundress for a girl. A flared skirt pattern is included.

But in order to get a maxi, it should be lengthened, lengthening the side and middle sections of the patterns equally (Fig. 3).

The bodice darts for thin figures can be generally ignored and the waist can be assembled, and the frill can be replaced with frills, as in photo 3 (strips of fabric).
