How to cut such detachable dresses with different styles of skirts

Open thin stretch dresses

(dress on Photo 1, drawings 3 or 5).

1. As you can see on the layouts, you can cut out parts without seam allowances. The skirt "Tatyanka" can be from one strip of fabric or from two strips, if splendor is needed.
2. The fabric, as usual, is folded in half with the front side inward and the edges are aligned.
3. Also suitable for this style. skirts with a difference in length - see how to cut them.
4. For a stretch dress with a short skirt, the “sun” is suitable (dress in photo 2, layout for cutting on 4 drawing) both a narrow sleeve and a flared sleeve, if you need an assembly at the bottom.
5. In any case, stretch dresses are sewn with a knitted seam, and the upper cut is processed with a narrow elastic band, which is sewn in a zigzag or understitching seam, while the fabric goes around it once. It turns out a seam "in a hem with an open cut" and with an elastic band.
6. Another option for processing with an elastic band - a drawstring - will require an additional allowance for the upper cut, since it is quite difficult to thread the elastic into the stretch fabric and distribute it evenly if the drawstring is not wide enough.
7. It is also possible to stitch the “top” with a rubber thread wound on a bobbin, but such a product will look a little different than in the photo.
8. Both sewing and decorative seams are suitable for processing the dress, if the bottom is planned in a hem with an open cut (hem once).

How to cut such dresses from stable fabrics

Cutting the styles of a dress with a straight skirt

(dress in photo 3, layout for cutting on 6 drawing).

These dresses can be sewn both from poplin, linen, thin jeans, and from dense silk, dress wool and jacquard. Suitable and dense stable knitwear.

Of the sleeves, short narrow, narrow 3/4 and flared of any length are suitable. The last one you see in the dress in photo 3.

Cutting allowances are as follows:

along the bottom of the skirt - 2,5 cm, along the bottom of the bodice - 3 - 4 cm (for trying on), along the upper cut of the bodice and sleeves - 3,5 - 4 cm (on the drawstring), allowances along the "vertical" sections and along the bottom sleeves - 1 cm. Sections of the waist of the skirt, armholes of the bodice, fragments of the eyelet of the sleeve are cut out without seam allowances.

Please note that the fabric is folded in half “face” inward along the width of the layout and the edges do not match, but are arranged parallel (picture 6).

It is designed for very thin fabrics such as cambric and chiffon, as well as their stretch counterparts. You can use these sleeves in combined products, where the bodice and skirt are cut out of a denser fabric.
