How to sew a dress with a relief on a pattern

The only difficulty that beginners may have is cutting the shuttlecock. To simplify this task, circles are located on the second sheet of patterns.

To choose a suitable circumference for a shuttlecock, measure the length of the seam of its (the shuttlecock) stitching on the dress.

Attention! By the time the frill is cut, the dress should be almost ready: the seams are processed and carefully ironed, the zipper is stitched, the fitting is completed.

Choose the "small" circle that is closest in length to the seam you measured for the frill join.

The length of this circle should be slightly longer than the length of the seam.

Then decide on the length of the shuttlecock and measure it from the selected small circle. As you may have guessed, the “great circle” is the departure line of the shuttlecock.

By the way, the lower flounce can be sewn not in a straight line and not to the bottom of the dress.
