Sleeve patterns to match any dress

sleeve patternsWe will again talk about sleeves of the “flashlight” type, which are very easy to cut and very easy to tuck in and stitch.

At the heart of the sleeve pattern is a circle or part of a circle.

These "lanterns" are suitable for almost any ladies' or children's dress and can be only part of the sleeve.

So, to build a pattern, we need a measure Dr. (sleeve length) and measurement Armhole lengths, measured according to the drawing, product (passed fitting) or cut details.

How to take measurements can be read at the link.

A “flashlight”, gathered along the lower cut, and without assemblies along the rim, can be cut out in two ways (Fig. 1 a, b).

Note for beginners: despite the fact that the patterns of "flashlights" are symmetrical, patterns should be made in a turn, that is, in whole, and not in half.

1 method (Fig. 1a). From the starting point, set aside Dr. and measure the height of the eye. On a horizontal line drawn through the same starting point, measure the length of the sleeve. The sleeve length in this case can be equal to the length of the armhole or be shorter. The bottom line is displayed smoothly, the main thing is to observe symmetry.

2 method (Fig. 1b). From the starting point, set aside Dr. (17-20 cm), then, continuing the same vertical, measure the height of the eye.

The height of the eye can be taken from the table or calculated using the formula:

1/4Cr + 3 cm

Divide the segment of the height of the eye into three parts and set aside from the lower division

1/2 armhole width

The width of the armhole can be seen from the drawing, but it is easier to calculate. She is equal

1/4 Cr

sleeve patternsSleeve length at hand Dr. 17 - 20 cm is equal to 4 - 5 cm.

So, we measured in a vertical straight line sequentially Dr., eye height and sleeve length at hand. The sum of these segments will be equal to the diameter of the circle, therefore, the radius will be half of this sum.

And we build the “flashlight”, gathered along the okat, almost the same way (Fig. 2).

From top to bottom we measure Dr, the diameter of the circumference of the low sleeve and the length of the sleeve at hand.

The sum of these segments will also be the diameter of the circle, and its radius, of course, will be equal to half this sum.

It remains to be noted that the radius of the bottom circle in most cases will be 5 - 7 cm.
