How to cut a boho summer jumpsuit according to a simple ready-made pattern

As mentioned above, you first need to determine the length of the product by measuring the length of the bodice of the back and the length of the trouser belt in succession.

In this case, it is more convenient to measure the length along the middle seam of the bodice of the back and through the highest point of the cut of the seat parallel to the lobar thread along the RF (picture 1).

The highest points of the seat and bow are marked on 1 drawing red crosses, they are also waist points and must be combined when sewing.

Having chosen the size, length and neckline of the back, we proceed to the choice of a variation of the style and sewing technology (picture 2).

According to this pattern, you can sew a jumpsuit with ties and simply with shoulder seams (picture 2).

But when choosing ties, we must take into account the additional consumption of fabric, especially if they are one-piece with a bodice.

As for the tailoring technology, the choice here is small - edging or a double bodice.

Keep in mind that edging or processing the cuts of the neck and armholes with an oblique trim will reduce fabric consumption by 50-65 cm.

When the choice of technology is made, you can perform a preliminary layout to calculate the consumption or proceed with cutting (picture 3).

Cutting is performed on the fabric laid out in one layer, as the cut is asymmetrical.

It is very important not to turn over the details, so it is recommended to cut on the right side of the fabric, laying out the patterns with the inscriptions up.

Seam allowances - 1 cm, except for the armhole and neck - they are without allowance.

On the 3 drawing shows a cutting option with a double bodice and ties that will be stitched to the shoulder cut.

First, all the details of the “top” are cut out, then the details of the “lining”, ties or slanting trim and burlap for pockets.

After cutting, the patterns of PP and ZP are folded with the alignment of the side seams - we combine the lower points. It is necessary to make notches for attaching burlap pockets.

Due to the asymmetry, the difference between the upper points of the side cuts is 10 cm. We retreat from the “ten” point another 5 cm down the side cut and make a notch on all four side cuts. This is necessary so that both pockets are located on the same level.

On this cutting can be considered complete.

How to sew a boho jumpsuit with your own hands step by step

1. We carry out assembly along the upper sections of the PP and ZP.
2. We process the seam of the bow (see picture 1) with double stitching. The usual stitch seam in ironing is also suitable.
3. We process the tucks on the shelf - we grind and iron down. The same on the lower bodice.
4. We sweep and grind the back from the RFP, and the shelf from the PP. If the bodice is double, we iron the seam up in order to “cover” its allowance with the lower bodice later.
5. If ties are provided, then we sew them and iron the seams.
6. We grind armholes and necks. What does “turning” mean: each section must be folded face to face, stitched, notched for turning, unscrew the allowances for the lower bodice and fasten them with a line on the front side of the lower bodice. The subsequent ironing with edging is also included in the turning operation.
7. If ties are not provided, then the shelf should be turned inside out so that you can put it into the shoulder sections of the backrest inside the shelf and sew, and then turn it out. Thus, the shoulder seams will be inside. We iron.
8. We grind the burlap of the pockets, overcast the place of stitching, having performed notches for this.
9. We process the middle and side seams in any convenient way. Of course, the side seams run along the edge of the pocket burlap. We iron.
10. We process the bottom into a hem with an open or closed cut (we bend it once or twice). If desired, you can use a rolled seam or piping.
