When setting up stitches on home equipment, try to follow the general rules.
The sequence and rules for setting up a cover stitch machine are very similar to setting up a cover stitch on a coverlock, so this video lesson class will be useful to everyone...
If you are a beginner couturier, dressing should be done with threads of different colors.
And for any status, even if you are a fashion designer, follow the order of refueling:
First the looper, then the needles.
Bring all three or four threads under the foot, but do not sew yet.
For test sewing, it is desirable to set the thread tension to medium values, the stitch length to be at least a “three” for thin fabrics and the maximum stitch length for thick footer. The differential, which regulates the operation of the teeth that advance the fabric under the foot, is set to "H", that is, to the "norm".
Raise the presser foot, place the fabric, and you can sew.
When finished sewing, raise the needles to the highest position to allow the threads to come out of the looper. Consider the line.
Loose threads should be tightened, and tightened threads should be loosened.
In my case, the right needle thread (blue) is too loose and the looper thread (magenta) may be too tight.
I start by increasing the needle thread tension and stitching again.
The stitch turned out to be quite convex, which means that it is the turn to loosen the looper thread tension.
I open the cover on the right and loosen the screw.
And again I send a sample.
In my opinion, the stitching is still not flat enough for the footer.
Attention! The stitching seams should be literally flat. This is also evidenced by their second name - “flat seams”.
Another important point: the sample should be sewn on the fabric from which the next product will be. And for fabric with other parameters, the stitcher will have to be rebuilt.
As you can see, the settings for this stitch are much simpler than those for the knit stitch.

Adjustment of any lines is performed on the fabric from which the product will be sewn.
If the stitch consists of 3 or more threads, and you are not familiar with the equipment, then threading for adjustment should be done with threads of different colors, but of the same thickness. Of course, the subsequent re-threading for sewing should be carried out on threads of the same thickness with which the setting was carried out.
Fortunately, the cover stitch (aka “flat”) stitch is quite simple, so you will only thread it with multi-colored threads once (see photo).
