Simple patterns of women's bathrobes with a hood hoodie skirt sun flared photo 2The difficulty level of sewing is simple - you will need basic skills in cutting and sewing.

The style suits full and slender figures of any height - the bust tuck is easily adjusted in length and height. The length of the bodice and skirt is also easy to adjust and / or choose.

Such robes fit especially well on figures that combine two different sizes - large breasts and narrow hips, small breasts and wide hips.

The pattern is designed for sewing at home.

3. Description of the construction of two styles of bathrobes

In fact, this is one style of a dressing gown cut at the waist with a flared skirt: a loose bodice, a non-stop sleeve, a simple large hood.

Patterns for beginners women's bathrobes with a hood and a flared skirt photo 3When choosing a style, you should decide on the fabric from which the robe will be sewn.

Consider a style with a wedge skirt. The wedges will not allow the skirt to deform strongly during wear, and will facilitate the processing of pockets in the side seam. If the zipper is embarrassing, then instead of it, you can sew a bar 3 cm wide in finished form along the edge of the bead with a hood approach and make a button fastener.

The wedge style is suitable for fabrics that are capricious in terms of extensibility. For example, for staple, thin linen, gauze (muslin), cambric and chiffon.

Keep in mind that the more natural fibers in the fabric, the more capricious the fabric, the more shrinkage and deformation, the less suitable the “sun” skirt is.

For a style with a “sun” skirt, it is worth choosing a fabric with a high content of synthetics, which will undergo deformation of the skirt to a lesser extent during wearing and washing.

Simple patterns of women's bathrobes with a hood and a flared skirt photo 4It can be the same linen or chintz with a predominance of artificial and / or synthetic fibers. You can use thin and dress knitwear with low stretch.

If you choose artificial silk with a large pattern for a dressing gown with a sun skirt, for which wedges are not suitable, then be prepared for the fact that the skirt will have to be repeatedly aligned, beating the length off the floor. In this case, bottom processing should be reduced to picking or processing roll seam on overlock.

Please note that the “rolled hem” (aka rolled) only resembles a narrow overcasting seam. Adherents of the Moscow seam, not understanding the difference, undeservedly scold the processing of sections with a rolled seam. But more on that another time...

4. How much fabric is needed to sew robes with a hood

Fabric consumption for a variation of the model with a zipper with a wedge skirt of maximum length (according to the pattern) will be from 320 cm to 450 cm

Fabric consumption for a variation of the model with a hood, a sun skirt with a smell will be from 400-410 cm.

Calculations were performed for a fabric of 150 cm, taking into account the long sleeve.

6. How to cut robes with a hood according to the finished pattern

How to cut a women's dressing gown with a hood and a flared skirt according to the finished pattern (Figure 2)Regardless of which style you have chosen, before proceeding to cutting, you should choose the length of the skirt, and also decide whether the skirt or bodice will be fitted.

I recommend to slightly fit the skirt and choose the size based on the length of the sum of the cuts of the waist of the bodice plus 5 or more centimeters.

When choosing the width of the wedge, keep in mind that the optimal number of wedges is six, and therefore we multiply the length of the waist section of the wedge by three, and then compare it with the sum of the waist sections of the back and front.

When the waist size of the skirt is chosen, choose the length. If the length of the skirt according to the pattern, in your opinion, is insufficient, we think over how much you need to lengthen the pattern before cutting.

Please note that the size of the "sun" skirt can be chosen not by number, but based on your idea.

After you have thought over the questions with the size and length of the skirt, you can proceed to cutting.

Let's start by cutting a model with a skirt "sun" (picture 2).

The fabric is folded in half across the cut, the edges are obtained on both sides.

The maximum length of the skirt according to the pattern is chosen taking into account that the fabric consumption does not exceed 420 cm, even for large sizes. If you increase the length, the flow rate will increase to 500 cm or more.

How to cut a simple women's dressing gown with a hood and a flared skirt according to the pattern pic 3Seam allowances 1 cm: side, shoulder, middle seam of the hood, front and back sections of the sleeve. You can add or not add allowances to the belt and burlap - as desired.

On the bottom of the bodice - 3,5 - 4 cm for convenient fitting (bodice).

We do not add allowances for the sprout (the neck of the back), the line for sewing in the hood, the waist section of the skirt.

Separately, it is worth talking about the cutting of the "sun" skirt with a side.

To slightly reduce the deformation of the skirt in the sock, it is better to make the middle seam as oblique as the fabric allows (picture 2).

And, if you plan to make a high-quality pocket, then the margin along the length of the waist section should be plus 3 cm. This is without assembly, if one was planned.

On the 4 drawing it is shown how a pocket is made on the "sun" in the section, but more on that later.

After cutting, do not forget to make a notch on the bodice of the shelf in the corner between the shoulder and the hood - on 2 drawing it is marked with a scissors icon.

Now consider cutting the option with six wedges (3 drawing).

For more convenient cutting, it is worth making two more patterns of wedges and cut one of them along the middle line.

Allowances are the same as in the previous version of the style.

7. How to sew a women's hoodie dressing gown using a simplified technology with your own hands

How to sew a robe pocket with a skirt in the sun (Figure 4)In tailoring, this is a fairly simple model. And here you can guarantee a good fit of the product if the fitting is correctly performed.

You can sweep the bodice for fitting in order to check and, if necessary, adjust the tuck for the bust in length and height, as well as cut armhole to shape.

Let me remind you that you can sweep with a machine stitch, and we gird the bodice on the figure with a linen elastic band to literally find out where to make the waist.

When choosing seams for processing, keep in mind that for very thin fabrics, double seams (with a zigzag or straight line), sewing seams are preferred. Open sections are preferably edged or processed by applying an oblique trim.

Now the sewing sequence.

  1. Darts - stitch iron down.
  2. Shoulder seams. The shoulder seams of the backrest can be processed with a double or linen seam, as well as a regular seam with ironing allowances. The same can be said about the middle seam of the hood.
  3. We assemble the skirt, having previously made notches for the pocket on the side wedges or on the section of the “sun” skirt, as shown in fig. 4. Consider this drawing in more detail: an arbitrary cut under the pocket can be made either along the side line (this is transverse and it may give the pocket more strength) or along an arbitrary oblique line. Don't make the cut too big - just enough to fit the pocket. Then, we sew burlap to the cut sections, fold it along the line, like a tuck, and grind the burlap. We edging or overcasting.
  4. When the skirts and bodices are assembled, you can connect them by fitting the skirt or bodice.
  5. We process the sleeves.
  6. We roll up the sleeves. Let me remind you that for a shirt sleeve, the hem is evenly distributed along the armhole. For a better fit, the middle point of the okolo, which we get by folding the sleeve in half, aligning the front and back sections, is combined with the shoulder point.
  7. We process the armhole.
  8. Board. For wraparound robes, the sides and bottom can be edged or finished with a ruched seam. For a robe with a zipper, if a zipper is not needed, a placket can be sewn to the side and edge of the hood.
  9. It is better to process the bottom after the second fitting and after you “beat off” (measure) it from the floor. The bottom is pickled or processed with a seam with a rudder. You can also choose to work with a Moscow seam or a seam in a hem.
