bodice shelf pattern;

strap pattern;

pattern "wing"

and a pocket burlap pattern.

The pattern of the “Tatyanka” skirt is a rectangle, and the rest of the frills are stripes, so they are not included in the set of patterns, but the cutting of the skirts and the frill is described in detail below.

Pattern "Sundress-Tatyanka with a clasp" 40-52 pic2This style of dress is suitable for most types of slim figures and for any height, since the length of the bodice and the length of the straps can be easily changed during the fitting.

For sewing, you can use chintz, linen, poplin, cambric, gauze and thin jeans.

A staple would be less suitable for sewing this Tatyanka sundress, since it does not hold its shape at all and the “wing” risks turning out to be ugly.

Fabric consumption (Fig. 3) can be calculated for the economic option or for the “fluffy” option and depends on the length of the skirt and the width of the frills. The recommended skirt length is 65 - 70 cm, and the width of the frill is 25 cm (this is taking into account the economical hem of 1 cm), and the frills on the top are up to 10 cm. The consumption of fabric for the bodice, "wing", straps and burlap is about 70 for all sizes. cm with a width of 140 cm.

Pattern "Sundress-Tatyanka with a clasp" 40-52 pic3Now let's consider the calculation of the cost for the economic model of a Tatyanka sundress with a clasp (Fig. 3 on the left).

Expenditures for the bodice, straps, "winglet" and burlap + The length of the Tatyanka skirt + 2 frill widths, taking into account the hem + frill width at the top

In numbers it will be 70 + 70 + 50 + 10 = 200 (cm).

Consumption for a sundress with lush frills (Fig. 3 on the right):

Expenditures for the bodice, straps, “winglet” and burlap + 2 Lengths of the “Tatyanka” skirt + 4 frill widths, taking into account the hem + frill width along the top

In numbers, it will be 70 + 2 x 70 + 4 x 50 + 10 \u70d 140 + 100 + 10 + 320 \uXNUMXd XNUMX (cm).

Accordingly, for a sundress without frills, you will need about 140 or 210 cm, depending on the splendor of the skirt.

Pattern "Sundress-Tatyanka with a clasp" 40-52 photoCutting and sewing a sarafan-tatyanka with a clasp

Before cutting, it is important to decide how you will process the top cut of the bodice. Of the options: edging with an oblique inlay (with or without a device), processing with an oblique inlay (without edging) and processing with a facing.

When choosing a processing method, you should proceed from the properties of the fabric and your skills.

Below are links to illustrated articles and video tutorials on these topics:

How to process a cut with an oblique inlay without edging

If you are going to process the upper cut with facings (Fig. 2), then you should cut out the facings according to the same patterns of the bodice, having previously folded the one-piece selection along the lines "Edge of the board" and "The hem line", performing a double hem.

We cut out the facings, as usual, from dublerin or adhesive interlining. Pay attention to the fact that the dubbing blank of the facing of the shelf should not go under the edge.

After gluing dubbing blanks onto the fabric, 1 cm seam allowances should be added along the side seams, the middle seam of the back and along the seam of the connection with a one-piece selection.

We start cutting by marking the frills and skirts (Fig. 3). It is not worth tearing off frills and a skirt, as is sometimes done in stores and in mass production. Quite often, the fabric is deformed during processing, so the tear-off strips may turn out to be uneven and unequal in width.

After marking the frills, you can lay out the patterns of parts with the necessary allowances.

For the bodice, they are as follows: the middle seam of the back and side seams is 1 - 1,5 cm, the waist cut of the bodice is 3 - 4 cm (for easy fitting).

Straps: for long sections 0,7 - 1 cm, for short sections 2 - 3 cm, in order to be able to adjust the length of the straps during fitting.

No seam allowances are added to the rest of the cuts and details.

Pattern "Sundress-Tatyanka with a clasp" 40-52 pic4When the marking of the bodice and small details is done, you can proceed directly to cutting. This sequence is important if you want to make the most economical use of the available cut or if there is not enough fabric.

Now you can start marking the skirt under the fastener.

The markup is done in the same way as in the shelf of the bodice. It is enough to attach a pattern of the bodice shelf to outline the distances between the lines. Experienced tailors limit themselves to notches, less experienced tailors apply chalk lines or lay marking lines.

Let's dwell on the marking of the side seams (or deep tucks) for processing pockets in the economic version of a Tatyanka sundress with a fastener (Fig. 3-4). In this case, the fold of the fabric will coincide with the center line of the back, and the side seam or long tuck should be equidistant from the half-skid (center line of the shelf) and the center line of the back.

Sewing sequence: assembling a bodice with a top frill, but without straps, making straps with wings, assembling a skirt with pockets; sweeping the bodice, straps and skirt; fitting and the final stage of sewing.

The final stage of sewing will also include the processing of the upper cut of the bodice. At the same time, it is very important that the straps are connected “purely”, that is, the ends of the straps should be closed with an oblique trim or facing. This cannot be done if the top of the bodice is simply edged, but it is possible when processed with a bias trim without edging or facing.
