Cutting and sewing "stretch dresses with one-piece sleeves"

For cutting, the fabric is folded in half face to face. The edges are aligned, and the fold runs along the transverse thread, that is, perpendicular to the edges (Fig. 2).

If the dress is cut from different fabrics, then the two cuts are folded one on top of the other face to face, the edges are combined.

The shelf and back are stacked "jack", while it is desirable that the waist line be perpendicular to the edges in both parts.

Seam allowances are not needed. It is desirable to sew this dress with a knitted seam.

After the front and back are stitched along the middle, shoulder and side seams, do not forget to iron these same seams.

The only difficulty in sewing this dress may be the processing of the neck and fasteners.

Since the dress is made of stretch, the hidden “zipper” in the middle seam can be easily abandoned, and the clasp can be made in the form of a “spread” (do not stitch the seam to the end), “drops” or “heart”.

Facing for processing the neck and fasteners are cut out according to the patterns of the shelf and back (Fig. 3) from dublerin.

Dubbing facings are cut out WITHOUT seam allowances, then glued onto the remnants of the fabric and cut out with the necessary seam allowances.

Please note that seam allowances are added at the joints of the facing fragments.
