After the main patterns are made, it is necessary to cut out the details of the facings on them (picture 2). Please note: you can cut out facings immediately from dublerin or non-woven fabric WITHOUT seam allowances. This will save you time.

Before you move on to cutting, pay attention to what seam allowances and processing you will need to add to each part (picture 3).

The length of the skirt in this pattern is only 45 cm, therefore, if desired or necessary, you can lengthen the patterns.

We add up to 3 cm along the middle seam of the back, and in its lower part, if you need a slot, increase the allowance to 6 cm.

Armholes, neck and sprout do not require allowances and are cut out beyond the line of the outline of the pattern.

The rest of the seam allowances are 1 - 1,2 cm.

We add 1 cm to the facings only at the places where they are connected to each other. As for cutting the facings, it should be done when the main parts are cut out. And first, dubbing should be glued on the remnants of the fabric, and then cut along the contour of the dubbing with the necessary allowances. This approach saves time and improves processing accuracy.

And finally, the layout for the cut (picture 4):

1. The fabric is folded in half so that the edges are aligned and parallel to the edge of the cutting table. Be sure to face inward.
2. Patterns and dubbing parts are laid on the fabric, taking into account the direction of the grain thread and allowances in the most economical way.
3. It is very important to observe the direction of the shared thread for the details of the shelf - it must coincide with the half-slide.

How to sew a Victoria Beckham dress with your own hands step by step

1. Sewing such a dress is not difficult.
2. First you need to assemble the back: bodice + bottom right side, bottom + bodice left side, middle seam.
3. Middle seam last.
4. Then collect the shelf, side seams, leaving the area under the "lightning" and baste a hidden "lightning".
5. By the way, it is better to place the “lightning” in the side seam, since the load on it during wear is less, therefore, even in such a tight-fitting dress, it will last a long time.
6. After that, the product should be tried on.
