For sewing, use artificial or natural fur. For lining, quilted lining or satin. If the stitch will be made by you, both batting and thin synthetic winterizer can be used as a heater.

Consumption of faux fur: equal to one length of the product for small and medium sizes is plus 5 cm, while the length should be measured according to the pattern of the shelf or according to the figure of the customer. For large sizes, if the collar is cut from the same fur, the expense will be one length plus 30 cm.

Lining consumption is also calculated.

Since the consumption will always increase for materials with a wide edge, a pattern and a width of less than 150 cm, in order to avoid surprises, it is recommended to buy fur with patterns on the hands. And natural fur ONLY WITH ALL READY CUTTERS ON HANDS (back - in a spread, shelves - 2 pieces, collars - 2 pieces).

When choosing the size of the pattern, consider what the fur vest will be worn with. And proceed from the fact that the Pg of the pattern is 4 cm.

In order not to be mistaken, measure the customer in the clothes that she will wear under the vest, and then measure the patterns in the chest and hips and compare with the measurements of the customer.

Remember that a fur vest greatly increases the size of a woman, so it should not be too loose.

Sometimes such vests are sewn without a fastener at all, and the distance between the sides on the figure can reach up to 10 cm. Such "small" vests are convenient to wear under outerwear. In addition, non-converging sides form an additional "vertical" and visually lengthen the silhouette.

This pattern is made with sides that should butt-join on the figure, that is, WITHOUT smell. This simplifies the manufacture of the fastener and allows you not to create extra volume.

A note about the tuck for the chest. For sizes 42 - 44 darts for the chest are NOT provided in this pattern of a fur vest. For sizes 46 - 50, pattern options are provided with and without a tuck. Other sizes - only with a tuck.

To cut a vest from natural fur, you must first combine the already prepared skins (pieces of skins) into a canvas, taking into account the size of the patterns. In this case, the middle of the skin should preferably pass along the middle pattern lines of the back and in the middle of each shelf. The side parts of the parts are complemented by the side parts of the skins. The direction of the fur is from top to bottom (the tail of the skin is directed to the bottom).

A shawl-type collar can be cut out of companion fabric or companion leather. In this case, we cut out both the belt and loops for the vest from the companion.

If the collar is cut out of fur, the details should be placed with the middle seam to the middle of the skin and the pile can be located both from the bottom up and from the top down. Of course, the pattern on both parts of the collar and the direction of the pile must necessarily match.

Natural fur should be cut without seam allowances with a special knife, cutting through only the core. If there is no special knife, you can use a construction knife with replaceable blades.

If you do not have enough sewing experience, opt for artificial fur, especially since today you can buy fur for any animal. It looks good, is not expensive, but, however, is not worn for a long time.

Faux fur, even short, should be cut without folding in half (Fig. 1). Seam allowances: side, shoulder, edge of the side (I remind you that here it coincides with the vertical of the half-skid) - 1 cm, neck and sprout - for the line of the outline of the pattern, along the bottom - 1 - 4 cm, depending on the processing method you have chosen. Collar - 1 cm.

Now paru of words about the line of the middle seam. It can only be useful for faux fur vests with a short pile. It is recommended to cut a vest with a seam only for figures with a large lumbar deflection. In other cases, the vest is cut without a middle seam.

The direction of the pile in artificial furs is "a very delicate issue." The fact is that long-haired furs (under the fox, under the silver fox) should be cut only with a pile to the bottom of the product, and the collar is vice versa (as shown in Fig. 1). But with this direction, the vest will be problematic to wear under outerwear. This must be taken into account.

If you are going to wear a fur vest under outerwear, choose fur with a medium or short pile. This fur should look good when the pile is directed upwards, towards the neck of the product. In this case, ALL details, including the collar, should be cut with a pile to the neck of the product.

Cutting the lining (Fig. 2) is not difficult. The fabric is folded in half along the width of the layout, the edges are parallel to each other and to the edge of the cutting table.

The seam allowances are the same as for the "top" of the faux fur vest. The lower collar, if the upper collar is made of fur, should also be cut from the lining. As mentioned above, the lining can be chosen already quilted with threads or a thermal needle.

If you are going to quilt the lining yourself, cut it out with larger allowances - up to 7 cm on all sides. When the lining is quilted, you will cut it out again according to the patterns with the allowances you need.
