Choose a pattern of sports trousers in a set for a sweatshirt:

✅ Pattern of tight sports trousers with stripes

✅ Pattern of loose-fitting sports trousers with stripes

✅ Pattern of simple sports trousers without stripes

All of the above styles have pockets.

3. Description of styles that can be sewn according to the pattern of a sweatshirt with a barrel

Patterns of a women's sweatshirt with a side zipper and no photo 2According to this pattern, two main styles can be sewn - with a zipper with a collar or without a fastener with a neck, as is usually processed in sweatshirts and T-shirts.

Both styles can be made with the middle part of the front in a contrasting color and various bottom configurations - all options are marked on the patterns and signed.

The non-stop sleeve does not require stitching and is recommended for not too experienced couturiers, as well as for simple products. Double-seam sleeve - for experienced tailors and/or for more difficult fabrics than a footer.

The silhouette of both styles is free.

4. What to sew women's sweatshirts from and how much fabric is consumed

Sweatshirts and sweatshirts are traditionally sewn from footer of various thicknesses.

The footer consumption for plain sweatshirts with a width of 180 cm will be from 120 to 150 cm.

For combined sweatshirts, you will need 90 - 120 footers of the main color and 70 - 80 cm of companion fabric.

In addition, the amount of knitting for cuffs will be 10 - 15 cm, and with a collar - up to 30 cm.

Burlap can be cut out of the lining fabric.

6. How to cut sweatshirts and sweatshirts for women according to ready-made patterns

First, choose a style.

How to cut a women's sweatshirt sweatshirt with a side zipper Fig 2On the 2 drawing shows exemplary layouts of the style with a zipper. The “straight” bottom line for the barrel and back (lower part of the picture), and for the middle part of the shelf - curved (upper part of the picture). All lines are signed on the drawings, which are in full size.

We cut out without allowances for seams, with the exception of an allowance for processing lightning 1 - 1,5 cm along the half-drift of the shelf and selection.

We cut out the selection according to the pattern of the shelf.

It's importantPay attention to how the fabric folds - twice the width of the layout. We cut the footer on the front side.

As for the collar, it is more convenient to cut it out after the sweatshirt has already been sewn and you have the opportunity to measure the length of the neck.

In this case, the collar can be cut out both from the dovyaz and from the main fabric.

It's importantPlease note that the collar in the photo is a rectangle. Collar pattern - the style of a classic bomber collar, more precisely 1/4 of its part (Fig. 2 at the bottom left).

When cutting out a collar from a dovyaz, remember that the length of the cut of the collar should be less than the length of the cut of the neck of the sweatshirt by 2-4 cm.

Now how to calculate the cuff width:

2 finished widths + 2 cm,

and we measure the length of the cuff on the wrist, so that it is comfortable.

How to mark pockets.

The optimal position is at least 5 cm from the bottom of the sweatshirt along the bottom cut of the burlap. Since there will be a “cuff” made of dovyaz along the bottom, the burlap can be flush with the bottom of the part of the middle part of the shelf.

Attach the burlap to the shelf and mark the position of the pocket.

If you want to make a "kangaroo" for this model, then it is better to cut the burlap from a thin lining and fasten the pocket under the zipper.

How to cut a women's sweatshirt sweatshirt with a side without a zipper Fig 3Now let's look at how to cut a sweatshirt without a fastener in the middle (picture 3).

This style is simpler and the entrance to the kangaroo pocket is indicated by shading on the patterns.

Please note that if you want to make a kangaroo pocket, then it is better not to make decorative zippers along the reliefs.

On the bottom, you can add hem allowances up to 3 cm, but this is optional. Other allowances are not required.

The pocket in this model is located high, since the middle part of the shelf is quite short. In this case, the burlap will have to be attached so that it does not peek out from under the sweatshirt.

What else do you need to know.

  • ✅ To process a pocket (any - “in the seam” or “kangaroo”, you can use either one or two pieces of burlap.
  • ✅ Processing with one piece will require fastening the burlap with a stitch on the shelf and you will need a strip of fabric - facing to process the entrance to the pocket.
  • ✅ Processing with two pieces of burlap is a little more expensive, but one of the pieces can be cut out of a thin lining. And, if you know what a gap is, then both parts can be cut out of the lining.

7. How to sew a women's sweatshirt at home

Before moving on to sewing a sweatshirt, set up overlock.

Almost all stitching should be done on an overlock with a knitted seam.

The easiest sewing sequence.

  1. We process the shelf. First, a tuck, which can be replaced with a fold, but be sure to iron it. Then the turn of the relief and the pocket (s) - we make notches, stitch the burlap along the entry line, top and bottom (in the "kangaroo"), the relief. Finally, a clasp, if any. After each line - iron!
  2. Then, we grind the shoulder and side sections on the overlock with a knitted seam. We iron.
  3. How to sew a non-stop sleeve without tucking in. We grind the sleeve, then, folding it in half, aligning the front-rear sections, we outline the highest point of the eyelet. We cut off the highest point with the shoulder seam of the armhole and distribute the eyelet evenly, chipping further with the cut of the armhole. The sleeve and side seam must not match. We sew with an overlock.
  4. The collar and cuffs are ironed along the details. The cuff is ground into a "ring" and sewn along the bottom of the sleeve. The collar is sewn into the neck.
  5. The bottom is in a hem with an open cut (overcast and fold once) or a dovyaz is sewn.

It's importantNote: if the zipper goes to the collar, then the sewing sequence will be different.
