The pattern is intended for home use only and for sewing on household sewing equipment.

For sewing, you need an overlocker and a household machine, but if you have a device for edging slices, then an overlocker is not needed.

To make it easier for customers to choose a variation of the style of a sundress - semi-overalls, one is called "semi-adjacent" (it is of a smaller volume), the other is free (it is of a larger volume).

The semi-adjacent semi-overalls are made on the base with a relief on the front and on the back. If desired, you can easily increase the degree of fit on the fitting.

Loose semi-overalls - without a relief on the back, on the shelf it has a semi-relief, turning into a soft fold.

The patterns of both semi-overalls have a marking of a low armhole, for wearing semi-overalls - a sundress on a T-shirt.

Bib overalls with a high armhole can be worn over underwear by adjusting its position on the figure due to the length of the straps.

4. From what to sew a simple semi-overalls - a boho-style sundress for summer and winter

Based on the fact that these sundresses - semi-overalls have a fairly large volume, when choosing a fabric, you should take into account the weight of the finished product and avoid heavy dense fabrics, as well as synthetic materials (synthetics weigh more).

For summer, you can choose thin chintz (including shirt), muslin, staple or linen with a predominance of natural fibers or purely natural. Thin denim and thin knitwear that endures the boho style is suitable.

For autumn and winter, you can choose thin dress wool, wool with silk or thin knitted fabrics with little stretch.

The fabric consumption will be 230 - 250 cm, with a width of 140 - 150 cm.

In addition to fabric, you may find accessories for adjusting the length of straps or ready-made decorative straps useful. And for a sundress of a semi-adjacent silhouette, you need a zipper up to 30 cm long.

5. How to cut sundresses - semi-overalls according to ready-made patterns

Before cutting, it is worth deciding how you will process the upper cut - turn or turn around.

If the choice fell on facings, then you can cut out their blanks immediately from dublerin or adhesive interlining without seam allowances. The width of the facings in cutting can vary from 4 to 6 cm (picture 2).

When sewing a jumpsuit - a sundress from very thin fabrics, for example, from gauze (muslin) or from a staple, you can cut out facings like a double bodice, that is, up to the waist.

In this case, only the upper part of the “lower” bodice can be duplicated using adhesive interlining or stretch doubler. That is, the thinnest duplicating materials or do without dubbing at all.

So, the facing blanks are cut out from doubler without seam allowances. If possible, their fragments should be combined into one piece.

Why for these models, facing blanks need to be cut before cutting other parts? and why do you need to cut them from dublerin?

Having the facing blanks on hand, we can most effectively lay out the patterns on the fabric.

Blankets of facings from dubbing can be easily cut into any number of small parts and are also easy to assemble into one piece if there is not enough fabric.

Please note that cutting blanks of facings BEFORE is not always the best solution. If the facing cut is subject to correction during the fitting, then the facings are cut out according to the product after fitting and correction of the facing cut.

In this case, correction of the upper cut is not required, therefore, we cut out the blanks of facings BEFORE, so that after cutting other parts, stick them on the fabric and, adding 1 cm seam allowances, cut them out.

We add seam allowances for facings only to the sections connecting the fragments of facings. No allowances are required for the turning and flying cut.

Opening both variations of models of overalls - a sundress is very simple (drawings 3 и 4).

Seam allowances - 1 cm. Exceptions: upper cut - no allowance, along the bottom - up to 5 cm (wide double hem).

On the 3 drawing shows an approximate layout of semi-overalls - a sundress of a semi-adjacent silhouette. The fabric is folded in half facing inward, the edges are aligned. The fold coincides with the share line of the cut.

On the  4 drawing - open a free semi-overalls - a sundress. The fold of the fabric across the cut, that is, perpendicular to the equity thread.

After cutting, we perform notches on the side seams and reliefs, having previously folded all 4 side cuts, and then 4 relief cuts together. You will need notches at the waist so as not to distort the seams when assembling and notches for pockets - 5 cm down from the waist along the side seam or along the relief.

In addition, to process a fold in a semi-overalls of a free cut, notches will be required in the corners between the semi-reliefs with a pleat (see picture 4).

6. How to sew simple sundresses - boho style jumpsuits at home - sewing sequence

1. We grind reliefs or a fold. For stitching reliefs on thin cotton fabrics, you can use linen sewing seam, Sweep the fold, and grind the semi-relief. The seams are carefully ironed.
2. To process the seams with pockets, we sew the burlap along the notches to the side cuts or along the cuts of the relief (depending on the model), overcast or edging the fragment of the seam “above the burlap” and iron it. We grind the side seams through the burlap, overcast or edging.
3. Then, we process the remaining seams - step and / or side seams, if they have not yet been processed. We iron.
4. The middle seams can also be sewn, but it is better to sweep for a fitting. In addition to the swept middle seams, it is worth preparing straps for trying on. You can take any strips of fabric to determine the length of the straps you need.
5. When trying on, we specify the length of the straps and the volume of the product, if necessary, adjusting it along the middle seams in front and behind. Decide on the need for lightning.
6. We process the middle seams in the way you have chosen. If a zipper is provided, then we sew a zipper.
7. We connect the straps with the overalls and, having collected the facings, we grind the upper cut or edging it.
8. We process the bottom into a hem with a closed cut (double wide hem).
9. Finishing ironing.
