Ready-made life-size patterns of jackets for a video lesson

For sewing a jacket, I will use a footer and a tie with an ornament.

The fabric is folded in half: it is bent on both sides. It is more convenient to cut, folding the fabric with a fleece inward, since there are often defects near the edges and they need to be identified before cutting and seen in the process.

It is important that the distance from the fold to the edge is the same everywhere.

On the right, the fabric is folded along the width of the shelf, on the left - along the width of the back.

First, cut out the shelf and back.

In this case, we add seam allowances for the shelf only along the neckline, a kind of tricky hood will be sewn into it, the ends of which we will process like a set-in bar.

The rest of the cuts are beyond the pattern line, that is, with an actual allowance of 3-5 millimeters.

Then we move on to the hood.

I made two identical patterns: I will cut the wrong parts of the hood one by one, and the front ones by the other.

A dovyaz will be used to decorate the hood, but you can take artificial or natural fur, if available.

I use a very simple technique for modeling the front part of the hood.

I mark on the pattern the line of the width of our finish in finished form and cut it.

The strip is a dovyaz, and since we have the same width throughout, we don’t need to cut it, just measure the length of the part.

And we will cut out a fragment of the “face” of the hood with the same allowances as the purl parts, plus an allowance for sewing on the tie. All these allowances are 1 cm.

We cut out the second part of the hood, having previously folded the fabric in half along the width of the part, in the same way as it was folded for the back, that is, the edges must be strictly parallel to the fold of the fabric and the edge of the cutting table.

The allowance for the lower cut and the stitching cut is 1 cm. The rest of the cuts are cut out for the stroke line of the pattern.

In conclusion, we cut along the fold and only after that we give the cut the exact shape.

Kangaroo pocket. We lay the pattern on the fold of the fabric and circle it. We apply it again on the other side of the pocket entry line and circle it. Add allowances.

We have a long piece of fabric left from the middle of the cut. Fold it across for the sleeve.

Cut out the sleeve for the stroke line. Please note: the fold of the fabric along the edge, first we cut along the fold, and then we give the details a clear outline.
