5. How to cut a sweatshirt with a hood according to the finished pattern

Before cutting, you should check whether the length of the patterns matches the required one. It is advisable to compare the length by measuring a control product.

Please note that the measurement of the length of the raglan sleeve is made from the neckline when you take measurements from the figure or from the product.

Seam allowances, if sewing will be done on an overlock with a knitted seam, are not required. Therefore, we cut out the details, keeping the stroke line.

The only point that requires explanation is the middle seam and fastener.

Consider an example of cutting on 2 drawing.

This is a sweatshirt that has neither a zipper at the front nor a middle seam at the back. The layout is made on a fabric with a width of 150 cm.

Cutting is done in two stages

Stage one: the fabric is folded so that two folds are obtained (lower part of Fig. 2). The first fold is along the width of the back, the second is along the width of the shelf (diagram in a bubble). There are small details between the shelf and the back. Thus, both the shelf and the back are laid on the fold by the middle lines and will not be cut out in one piece.

Stage two (after the details of the first stage are cut out): the fabric is folded in half, the edges are aligned. The details of the kangaroo pocket are laid on the fold. The remaining parts are placed in the most economical way.

Cuff sizes, if cuffs are provided:

Cuff width = 2 finished widths + 2 cm

After cutting, do not forget to make notches along the waist, along the midline of the back (on the sprout and along the bottom) and along the semi-skid (on the neck and along the bottom).

For processing pockets, notches will also be needed, which will limit the entrance to the pocket.

If there is a need for a knitted inlay, then you need to cut it across the fabric, that is, perpendicular to the shared thread.
