4. How to cut a cocoon sweatshirt dress with pockets according to a finished pattern

Before proceeding to cutting, consider why we need pattern of a whole unmodeled shelf:

Seam allowances of 1 cm are needed only for some sections - at the entrance to the pocket and along the cut of the "constructive" line that connects the right fragment of the shelf to the bottom.

We do not add to the rest of the seam allowances or add no more than 0,5 cm. For the lower cut - we proceed from the desired length.

The layout is shown in 2 drawing - the fabric is folded in half only for the back and sleeves, the back is laid on the fold by the middle line.

The rest of the details are stacked on the face of the fabric with the inscriptions up to avoid confusion. The share of asymmetric parts of the shelf should coincide with the half-slide (the middle line of the shelf).

Of course, the burlap can be cut out without observing the share direction using leftovers or other fabric. For example, if the dress is sewn from a footer with a “felt” fleece, then the burlap-turning can be cut from thin knitwear.

Notches and transfer of the semi-skid markings and pocket entry lines are performed immediately after cutting.

To process the pocket, we need notches that delimit the entrance to the pocket and the "constructive" line. The length of the notch should be 0,1 - 0,2 less than the width of the seam allowance.

And for ease of assembly - notches at the waist and hips. Notch length - 0,4 cm.

We mark the half-skid on the front side of all the details of the shelf with a lining stitch with a contrasting thread.
It is important. When assembling the shelf, the semi-skid should “combine” into one line.

5. How to sew a loose sweatshirt dress at home - sequence

1. Knit stitch and narrow zigzag adjustment.
2. We start by stitching the burlap-turning with a narrow zigzag. We cut and fasten the allowances on the burlap-turning with the same zigzag, iron it, releasing the piping and make a finishing line, if provided.
3. We grind the right fragment of the shelf with the middle lower fragment along the construction line in a narrow zigzag and go to the burlap of the pocket, combining the half-skid and the waist. We overcast the seam and iron it.
4. We bend it inside out and iron the section at the “constructive” line on the left fragment of the shelf.
5. Combine the "constructive" line of the middle part of the shelf with the fold of the left fragment, while the lines of the entrance to the pocket should match. Fasten the parts of the shelf in this position temporarily - with large oblique stitches or tailor's pins and stitch the cut along the edge of the ledge and along the burlap. Iron on.
6. Now, the moment of truth - compare the assembled shelf with the whole shelf, refine if necessary (make the assembled shelf and the whole shelf congruent).
7. Perform bartacks that limit the boundaries of the entrance to the pocket.
8. Next, stitch the shoulder seams on the overlock with a knitted seam. Iron them.
9. Stitch in the sleeve. Iron the seams.
10. Side seams. Iron.
11. Iron the collar and cuffs in half across. We process the mittens with a narrow zigzag. We grind the collar “into a ring”, also with a narrow zigzag.
12. Next, stitch the cuffs and collar. You can immediately on the overlock or first with a narrow but long zigzag.
