How to cut a detachable dress with bare shoulders and a straight wrap skirt according to a finished pattern

First, you should decide on the length of the skirt, taking into account the coefficient of transverse extensibility. Of course, it will be possible to take it into account only approximately.

Gather the fabric along the hem in one hand and measure the change in length in suspension. Compare the resulting width of the fabric with its unfolded width. Use the difference to choose one of the three lengths, considering that the cut skirt will stretch out less on the figure, as it will be lighter than the whole cut.

On the pattern you will see three marks of the length of the skirt - 75, 85 and 95 - this is the length of the base BEFORE MODELING (picture 1). Let me remind you that the Du is measured along the side seam, and not along the middle. When measuring the length of the pattern, keep in mind that the skirt has gone through the modeling process and the length of the pattern has already changed. The numbers are given for a rough guide when choosing the length

As you already understood, it is in the calculations of the coefficient of extensibility for choosing the length that the main difficulty in cutting this dress lies.

When you decide on the length - everything is extremely simple.

We cut the fabric in one layer on the cutting table, all the details - in a spread (pictures 2 и 3). The skirt can be laid in a mirror.

We do not make allowances for seams, but above the folds and tucks - "houses".

For girls with a height of 165 cm or more, as well as happy owners of large breasts, it is recommended to lengthen the bodice by 5 cm in order to fine-tune the length of the bodice while trying on, taking into account the features of the figure.

The strip for processing the upper cut of the bodice can be of various widths - according to your desire.

You can calculate the width using the formula:

2 strip widths finished + 1,5 cm

How to sew this dress step by step

We start by setting up a knitted seam and a zigzag.

1. We start sewing by assembling the bodice on the overlock and carefully ironing the seams.
2. Then, we collect the skirt, sweeping the folds with large oblique stitches and sewing the darts in a narrow zigzag. A one-piece selection is simply folded inside out.
3. We carry out the fitting, adjusting the length of the bodice. Please note that during the fitting you can cut off an uneven strip from the bottom of the bodice. It is this "roughness" that will ensure an excellent fit of the bodice on the figure.
4. Finish the bottom of the skirt with a piping or roll seam. Finish the bottom of the sleeve.
5. Connect the soft folds to the side tuck and secure them in this position.
6. Connect the bodice and skirt.
