Description of the design of the pattern of women's trousers with a high one-piece belt

As the name suggests, the trouser belt of this model is one-piece, that is, it is a continuation of the PP and ZP.

Such a belt is processed into a hem with an open cut. In other words, it needs to be folded once.

The trousers are tapered at the bottom and slightly shortened compared to classic ones, therefore, the length of the trousers should be checked before cutting.

The part for processing the fastener according to the male type (Codpiece-slope) can be cut out either together with the PP or separately.

Burlap is suitable both for processing a pocket in the side seam and for a welt-type leaf or frame.

The level of complexity of the product is designated as medium, since, in addition to the fastener and pockets, the main difficulty is understanding which cutting and sewing option you choose and why. Let's try to understand this issue.

As usual, after choosing the size, we check the length and adjust the pattern if necessary.

Now let’s look at the tailoring options and choose the one that will be most complementary to the customer’s figure (picture 2).

Option with a “male” clasp. The fastener can be cut out separately or be one-piece with PP trousers, as shown in the pictures 2 и 3. In this case, you can use a simplified version of fastener processing.

Now attention: I do not recommend cutting-off codpieces and hems in women's trousers, since additional seams on the belly will slightly increase its visual size. But, if the stomach is sunken and the hips “have not grown”, then this approach is possible.

One-piece codpiece and slope in the “luxury” version, where edging, lining and other options for decorating the back of the product are used, may require cutting as in 2 drawing on the left - a rectangle is cut out above the codpiece. Or, if you process the fastener more simply, the rectangle is not cut out (Fig. 3 indicated by a blue dotted line).

And my favorite option for those who fight for every centimeter of slimness - with a fastener in the side seam (picture 2, 4). In this case, we make reserves in front along the bow. And we make a reserve for the seat in any case for any cutting and sewing option. Reserve up to 3 - 4 cm.

In addition, if you have a fastener with a hidden zipper in the side seam, the pocket in the side seam will not be processed. We process it on PP - mark a rectangle parallel to the side seam for frame or leaflets. You can use the same burlap as for processing the pocket in the side seam and also secure it into the seam.

Seam allowances - 1 cm. Exceptions: at the bottom 2,5 - 3 cm with expansion, since the trousers are tapered towards the bottom. We do not add allowance along the upper cut. About the bow and the seat - we add not only an allowance, but also a margin.

Next, how to duplicate the belt.

The width of the dubbing is equal to the width of the “hem” of the belt - 6 cm. We cut out a strip of dubbing and will duplicate it, bypassing the darts, folds, and allowances.

When everything is figured out, we lay out the patterns on the fabric, which we previously folded in half, facing inward, aligning the edges.

After cutting, do not forget to make notches: along the side seam - knee and pocket; along the crotch seam - knee.

Let me remind you how to make notches: fold all four side cuts together and cut 0,5 cm along the pocket and knee; fold 4 stepwise sections - cut 0,5 cm along the knee.

To process, you need to insert “bones” into the darts and side seams, overcast and fold the waistband, as they do when processing the bottom.

12. Trying on. Now you can make very precise adjustments to the fit and volume of the product, as well as determine the length of the trousers. It is advisable to carry out fitting with the fold basted.
