Pattern of a sundress - a dressing gown with a straight skirt and with a side lapel photo 2This model is universal - it can be sewn from most types of fabric for dresses and suits.

Both woolen fabrics with a small content of synthetics or artificial fibers, as well as cotton or linen, are best suited.

For example, for cold seasons, you can choose wool, plaid, thick denim or leather.

For a summer sundress - thin denim or heavy linen.

Fabric consumption with a width of 140 - 150 cm will be from 170 to 250 cm.

5. How to cut a sundress - a dressing gown according to a finished pattern

A distinctive feature of this model is a double bodice and a one-piece skirt for a skirt (picture 2).

Pattern pieces can be combined for convenience, reducing sewing operations and reducing fabric consumption.

For example, in 2 drawing the combination of the bodice of the back, RF and PP of the skirt into one piece is shown. This combination allows you to reduce the number of seams and facilitate the tailoring of the product.

Pattern of a sundress - a dressing gown with a straight skirt and with a side lapel Fig 2Now a little more about cutting.

The fact that the back of the bodice, RF and PP of the skirt are laid out on the fabric in such a way that there are no seam allowances between them does not need to be explained.

Let's stop on a one-piece selection of a skirt.

Cutting a one-piece selection is just an indent, “reservation” of a strip of fabric to the right of the edge of the bead. The width of the selection can vary from 7 to 15 cm. One-piece selection can be duplicated with interlining or thin doubler.

We lay the pattern of the bodice of the shelf on the fold of the fabric to avoid a seam along the edge of the side and cut out the double shelf twice. The lapel (lapel) to the kink can be duplicated - to the tuck and indented from the waist up by 3 - 4 cm.

We cut out the "lower" bodice of the back arbitrarily.

The share of the upper valve may coincide with the share PP of the skirt or not match - it depends on your idea. The bottom valve should be duplicated by cutting out doubler or non-woven blanks without seam allowances, that is, strictly according to the pattern.

Seam allowances 1 cm. Exceptions - armholes without allowance, along the bottom of the skirt - 2,5 - 3 cm.

Open the straps in a sundress

Straps, as mentioned above, are rectangular strips of fabric with a width of 5 cm in cutting, and in finished form - 3 cm.

The length of the straps should be adjusted during the fitting, moreover, instead of adjusting the length of the bodice according to the figure, the fit of the sundress is regulated by the straps.

The recommended length of the straps in cutting is 50 - 55 cm.

To process the pocket, you will also need the details of a leaflet or frame - rectangular strips of fabric.

Leaflet or frame length = pocket entry length + 5 cm

Leaf width = 5 cm in cutting (this is 1,5 cm in finished form)

Frame piping width = 2,5 cm in cutting (this is 0,5 cm in finished form)

6. How to sew a sundress or bathrobe at home

The sewing sequence is as follows:

  1. Valve, leaflet or facing frame.
  2. Darts.
  3. Dubbing of the selection of the skirt and lapel, if the second is provided.
  4. Processing pockets or sewing the valve and processing the last tuck.
  5. Strap processing.
  6. Connection side seams (including the lower bodice) and / or bodice with a skirt. If the back was cut out in one piece, then the connection of the bodice shelf with the skirt, then the side seams. If the back was cut out separately, then first the side seams, then the connection with the skirt.
  7. Connection straps with a shelf. Connection with the back will be after fitting.
  8. Processing the upper cut of the sundress, with the exception of the section under the back strap.
  9. Trying - determine the length of the straps for the best fit. We mark the places of the loops.
  10. Connection straps with the back.
  11. Bottom processing.
  12. Button loops, belt.
  13. Finishing ironing.
