This style of dress is suitable for all types of figures of different heights and fullness.

Pattern dress-cocoon with reliefs 40-64 pic1The set of patterns for a cocoon dress with reliefs includes (picture 1):

  1. back pattern;
  2. shelf patterns - upper part;
  3. barrel;
  4. middle part.

The marking of the fold on the sleeves has not been done, since it is easier and better to lay the fold directly on the fitting, taking into account the elasticity of the fabric and the fullness of the arm.

The facing is not included in the set of patterns, as it is cut out according to the patterns of the shelf and back.

The cost for a cocoon dress with reliefs with a fabric width of 140 cm will be 140 - 210 cm, depending on the size.

Both woolen and stretch fabrics with very little stretch are suitable for sewing this dress. An ideal example of a woolen fabric for this dress is a thin loden, or lacoste-type knitwear.

How to cut this dress with your own hands

Pattern dress-cocoon with reliefs 40-64 pic2We start by cutting out the facing for the neck according to the finished patterns of the back and shelves (picture 2). Turning width 4-6 cm.

We cut out from dublerin or non-woven fabric without seam allowances - we will add them to the seams after gluing the blanks onto the fabric.

When the selection blank is ready, you can start cutting (picture 3). We fold the fabric lengthwise in half face to face, combine the edges and place them parallel to the edge of the cutting table.

Pattern dress-cocoon with reliefs 40-64 pic3Seam allowances - 1 cm each, except for the sprout, neckline and cutout - an allowance is NOT added along them.

On the bottom of the dress and the bottom of the sleeve - 2 - 2,5 cm.

The share thread of the back, barrel and middle part of the shelf is located along the details, in other words, perpendicular to the lines of the waist and hips. For the “checking” backrest, the middle line of the backrest is used, and for the shelf, a semi-skid (the middle line of the shelf).

The upper part of the shelf can be cut out with the lobar parallel to the half-skid, but it is better if the lobar goes along the cut lines.

It's importantPlease note that the cutout at the top point is 2 cm away from the half-skid, so you will also need a small bar - a strip of fabric 5 cm wide and 6 cm long. With this strap, the neck will be connected.

Of course, you can connect the neckline not only with a strip of fabric, but also with beads, a brooch, or simply leave it open.

We cut out the selection according to the blanks already cut out of the dublerin, we add it to the seams only at the junctions of the fragments. By the way, there may be several fragments of the selection (additional stitches) if there is not enough fabric.

Pattern dress-cocoon with reliefs 40-64 pic4In order to make additional stitches, it is enough to cut dubbing blanks in a place where the stitching seam is convenient. But it is very desirable that this seam be either in the area of the shoulder seam or from the area of \uXNUMXb\uXNUMXbthe sprout (back neck).

In the place where the pick-up is cut into additional stitches, we also add 1 cm seam allowances.

On the 3 drawing whole selections are shown with allowances in places where they will be ground.

How to sew a cocoon dress with your own hands

Pattern dress-cocoon with reliefs 40-64 photo1We start assembling the dress from the middle seam of the back. A zipper is desirable. Overcast the cuts, iron, grind the area under the zipper, sweep the rest, iron the seam and tack the zipper.

This completes the back. We turn to the shelf, or rather to the pockets.

Experienced tailors can process the leaflet as shown in the photo. To prevent the pocket from deforming in the sock, it is recommended to make it with a zipper.

See how to sew a leaf pocket

To process the “classic” leaflets, the reliefs should be processed - grind them, overcast and iron the seams, and then mark the pockets.

But, you can also make a regular simple kangaroo pocket with solid burlap between the reliefs.

You have already paid attention to the markings of the patterns - the horizontal lines of the waist and hips are marked on them.

Pattern dress-cocoon with reliefs 40-64 photo2We mark the pockets on the sections of the seam of the relief - we put a notch, stepping down from the waist 3 - 5 cm. From the first notch down another 12 - 13 cm - we put the second notch.

We cut out the burlap (rectangle) along the width of the middle part of the shelf in a turn (picture 4). The length of the burlap is 22 - 23 cm. We will need two parts, one of which can be cut from a thin, but preferably durable fabric, the second from the "top" fabric so as not to make gaps.

The notches on the burlap should match the notches on the shelf details.

We grind the seams of the reliefs, excluding the areas of the entrance to the pocket. We note the sections of the entrances, after which we iron the seams.

We sew the lower burlap (which is made of lining fabric) in the areas of the entrance to the pocket and overcast the relief, between the notches of the entrance.

We sew the upper burlap (which is from the same fabric as the dress) in the areas of the entrance to the pocket, overcast the relief, including the burlap between the notches of the entrance.

Then we grind the top and bottom burlap and overcast them.

After careful ironing, the burlap on top can be attached to the seam of the relief.

Then, we grind the lower part of the shelf from the top. We overcast the seam and iron it out. Shoulder and side seams are also stitched, overcast and ironed.

After that, you can try on the dress and outline the sleeve fold.

After trying on, we grind the zipper, grind the neckline, and process the fold and bottom of the sleeve, as well as the bottom of the dress.
