Description of an electronic simple oversized dress pattern

A simple, loose-fitting dress with a one-piece kimono sleeve. The advantages of such a cut are not only in the simplicity of tailoring, but also in the absence of the need to fit for various types of figures of any fullness and height.

What to sew and how to calculate fabric consumption

For sewing, you can choose any not too thin dress fabrics. This style is suitable for sewing both warm and summer dresses.

This dress can be made from both stable and stretch fabrics.

For example, dress wool and plaid, jersey, footer are ideal for a warm dress, and linen or denim is ideal for a summer dress.

From stretch fabrics, it is better to choose dense fabrics with little or medium stretch.

The consumption for a combined dress will be 110 - 135 cm "plaid" and the same amount of "dark fabric". Consumption is calculated using the formula

One length + 10cm

Consumption for a plain dress will be from 150 to 230 cm with a width of 140 - 150 cm.

Do-it-yourself oversized dress pattern features

We start by cutting out the facings (picture 2). We cut out immediately from dublerin or interlining, choosing the desired shape. On the 2 drawing turning options are shown without a fastener and with fasteners "cut", "drop" and "heart".

The facing width is 4 - 5 cm. The outlines of the figured fasteners are arbitrary, but after cutting out, you should fold the dublerin blank in half and check the symmetry of its sides.

Blankets of facings from dublerin are cut out without allowances for seams. Seam allowances of 1 cm are added after gluing blanks on the fabric along the shoulder seams.

For the rest of the seam allowances 1 cm.

Exceptions are the neck without seam allowances, and add up to 3 cm along the bottom and along the cut of the pocket entrance. Pay attention to the shape of the allowances for the entrance to the pocket and the bottom - we expand them towards the cut of the part.

It should be cut, like the rest of the asymmetric products, laying out the fabric in one layer - in a spread (figures 3, 4 и 5).

To avoid confusion, we lay the patterns with the inscriptions up and perform the cutting on the front side of the fabric.

When all the details of the dress are cut out, the turn of the facings comes. We glue the facing blanks, add 1 cm allowances along the shoulder seams, cut them out.

Separately, it is worth mentioning the decorative overlay on a small fragment of the back. If this overlay increases consumption, it can be replaced with decorative stitches. It is not recommended to make a second pocket, because under the weight of the contents of two pockets on one side, the dress can warp on the figure.

How to sew an oversized dress for beginners step by step

1. We start by processing the cut of the pocket entrance. We duplicate the allowance with a strip of dublerin or interlining, overcast, bend, iron and hem or stitch. We iron.
2. If there is an overlay, then we bend it from above and below by 1 cm, iron it, apply it, adjust it and iron it.
3. We put a pocket in place of a pocket, we accept or prick.
4. We grind reliefs, overcast and iron out. You can make finishing lines.
5. Stitch, overcast and iron the shoulder seams. Finishing lines - optional.
6. Stitch the sleeves, overcast and iron the seams. Finishing lines - optional.
7. We process the side seams in the same way. In the place of rounding, we stretch the allowance with an iron. Of course, we do not do finishing lines.
8. We grind the fragments of the facings, iron the seams, overcast them along the fly away and iron them.
9. We turn the neck.
10. We process the bottom into a hem with an open cut - swept over, bent, ironed, hemmed.
