1. Description and characteristics of the cocoon dress pattern

1.2. A set of patterns for an electronic dress pattern

The set of patterns for the dress cocoon of the voluminous includes (picture 1):

1. Back medicine.
2. Shelves.
3. Long sleeve.
4. Burlap pocket.

Consumption for small sizes with short sleeves from 110 cm, with long sleeves from 150 cm. Fabric width 140 - 150 cm.

Consumption for large sizes will be up to 260 cm, with the same width.

Both stable and stretch fabrics are suitable for sewing this dress. You can use linen, chintz, wool and synthetics, but it is desirable that these are not too thin and not too heavy fabrics. So chiffon and footer with felt fleece will not work.

Particular attention should be paid to the choice of size, as someone likes slightly loose boho dresses, while others prefer to “sink” in a boho dress. The length of the product (on the shelf) for each size is different. For small sizes - 96-112 cm, for large sizes 115-130 cm.

2. Open the cocoon dress according to the pattern

After choosing the size for the finished product with a kimono sleeve and choosing a variation of the neckline, you can proceed to the preparatory work.

Let's start with blanks for turning the neck (picture 2).

They are cut out according to the patterns of the shelves and backs from dublerin or adhesive interlining without seam allowances.

Let me remind you that it is better to add seam allowances to the blanks after they are glued to the fabric. The width of the facings is 3,5 - 4 cm.

When cutting, depending on the size and width of the fabric, you may have a different layout (pictures 3 и 4).

On the 3 drawing shown cutting small sizes with a medium seam on the back. The fabric is folded in half face to face, the edges are aligned.

Seam allowances - 1 - 1,5 cm, except for the neck and sprout - seam allowances are not added to them. You can add or not add a processing allowance to the burlap, depending on what pocket size you need.

Large size layout (picture 4) looks different.

The fabric is folded in half along the width of the front and back. The remaining parts are stacked on lunges, while the fabric for paired parts can be folded in half across.

Immediately after cutting, notches should be made on the side cuts for pockets. To do this, all four side cuts are folded together and notches are made at the pocket.

3. How to sew a cocoon dress according to the finished pattern

First we sew the pocket burlap.

The seams are ironed and overcast.

Then, we grind, overcast and iron the shoulder seams.

We sew the sleeve, if necessary, overcast the seam and iron it.

We collect the facing and grind the neck.

We grind, weave and iron the side seams.

And in the end, we process the bottom into a hem with an open cut - overcast, fold and iron, lay a line and iron.
