Sewing difficulty level: medium, you will need skills in cutting and sewing, as well as skills in trying on.

This style of dress is suitable only for slender girls and women of medium and tall height.

The set of dress patterns includes (picture 1):

1. back-shelf-sleeve pattern;
2. pattern of skirt ZP (back half);
3. PP skirt pattern (front half) with peplum and wrap;
4. PP skirts without peplum with a wrap;
5. skirts bottom PP;
6. peplums ZP with elongation along the middle seam (line) and without elongation,
7. as well as a burlap pattern for processing a pocket in the side seam.

Patterns of cuffs and straps are not included with the set of patterns, as they are rectangles. The selection is also not included, as they are cut out according to the detail of the back-shelf-sleeve.

The consumption of fabric for a dress with a peplum (without a petticoat) will be about 280 cm. This is with a diameter of 70 cm and a fabric width of 140 cm.

The consumption of fabric for a dress without a peplum (without a petticoat) will be 220 cm.

Consumption for the petticoat - one length - about 80 cm.

For sewing such a dress in the boho-chic style, it is advisable to choose natural cotton or linen fabrics. The fabric should not be too heavy and dense.

Cut and sew a boho-chic dress with your own hands from scratch

First you need to decide on a style variation: with or without a peplum (picture 1).

Girls with lush hips should approach this choice with particular care, as some of them are basques, others are not.

Having chosen a variation with a peplum, decide whether it will be solid at the back or not. On the patterns, the rounded ends of the peplum of the RFP are marked, in case you want to exactly repeat the style shown in the photo.

Next, you need to decide whether you will have a deep neckline on the back or not - two variations of the neckline are given on the pattern - regular and deep.

After that, you can make patterns - print, assemble and cut.

Before proceeding with cutting, it is also desirable to cut out the facings of the neckline from dublerin (picture 2) and no seam allowances.

The width of such a facing is 4 - 5 cm.

Since the facing turns out to be quite large and inconvenient to cut, it is better to cut it in the area of ​​​​the shoulder point, which is marked on the pattern.

Later, when dubbing blanks are glued to the fabric, it will be necessary to add allowances at the junction of the facing parts - 1 cm in the area of ​​​​the shoulder and the middle seam of the back, as well as along the cut of the waist (picture 2).

The seam allowances in this product are usual: allowances are not added along the neckline and along the waist section of the skirt, and it is better to add about 3 cm along the waist section of the bodice in order to be able to adjust the length of the bodice during the fitting. We also add up to 3 cm along the bottom of the RFP of the skirt in order to process the bottom into a hem, but we do not add allowances along the bottom of the PP peplum, since we will process this cut with an oblique trim.

Open the variations of the peplum dress shown in 3 drawing. Since the PP detail with peplum and wraparound does not fit half the width of the fabric, you will have to cut it in a turn.

When cutting the dress in a turn, it is very important not to turn the paired details.

Dimensions of rectangular parts for a dress

Cuffs:

Cut-out width = finished width + 2 cm

Cuff length = sleeve width + 2cm

Strap:

Strap length 25 - 30 cm

The width of the strap in cutting = the width in the finished form + 2 cm.

The width of the strap in finished form is 3 - 3,5 cm.

When laying out, do not forget also about the details for processing the peplum along the bottom.

The easiest option for processing peplum cuts is processing with an oblique inlay (strip). The inlay is cut out from the remnants of the fabric along the oblique.

Inlay width in cutting 3 - 5 cm, depending on the choice of processing method (edging or turning)

Open dresses without peplum (picture 4) is not difficult. The fabric is folded in half face to face, the details are arranged in the most economical way.

The opening of the petticoat is shown in picture 5. It is more convenient to make a skirt with one seam. The fabric is folded in half along the width of the skirt with a seam allowance.

Sewing this dress is much easier than cutting and is no different from sewing other dresses cut off at the waist.

First the bodice is assembled, then the skirt. When trying on, it is desirable to adjust the length of the bodice according to the figure. For this purpose, a large waist allowance was added to the bodice.

Please note that the fitting should be carried out with the belt with which you are going to wear this dress.
