Marking the ironing, trimming small parts of trousers and pockets for beginners
Consider the moment that causes the greatest difficulty for beginners: marking the ironing, pockets and trimming small details (separately parts list и detailed description of tailoring technology here).
The ironing line is equidistant along the bottom of the trousers from the crotch and side seam (picture 3).
Therefore, you can mark it by folding the pattern in half.
Why this line is needed in the drawing is another question.
It is needed on the pattern only in order to correctly mark the warehouse or tuck. The warehouse is located directly next to the ironing line, in most cases from the side of the pocket.
Note. The fold can be located on the other side of the iron, that is, on the side of the fastener in trousers with several large folds at the waist, when it is not possible to place all the folds from the pocket side.
In the process of processing, we do not need to mark the ironing line, since when ironing the PP, we will fold it in half and will be guided at the bottom by the coincidence of the step and side seam, and at the top by the already processed warehouse or tuck (see article WTO pants).
The marking of the PP tuck is slightly different from the marking of the warehouses (picture 3 in the bubble).
The vertical of the ironing in this case acts as the middle line of the tuck.
The length of the tuck for children's trousers will be from 4 to 7 cm, for adults - from 7 to 11 cm.
The tuck solution (deposited in half on both sides of the ironing line) in children's trousers is 0,7 - 1,5 cm, in adults - 1 - 2 cm, and for ladies it can be increased to 3 cm and at the same time the tuck can be two.
Varieties of pockets in children's trousers
The marking of the “Hungarian” pocket, which is also called the “cut-off barrel”, is also “tied” to the marking of the ironing line and the warehouse (tucks).
One of the most important rules is the observance of the distance from the pocket to the warehouse.
It should be no less than half the width of the warehouse plus 1,5 cm.
This rule is important, especially when the size is small, and there are 2 or 3 folds.
In such cases, often the pocket has to be made in the side seam so that the stock allowances do not interfere with the processing of the pocket (barrel pocket processing).

So, for children's trousers, the width of the “cut-off barrel” at the top is 2–4 cm, the length is 10–14 cm.
To check the correctness of the markup, step back along the received line from above and below 2 - 2,5 cm (they will go to the processing of seams and fastening the pocket) and compare the entry segment with the child's palm.
The marking of the tuck on the RFP for children's trousers is very simple: draw a line perpendicular to the waist section of the RFP - the middle line of the tuck, set aside half of the solution of this tuck on both sides of the midline.
The tuck solution for children's trousers is 1 - 1,5 cm, length 4 - 6 cm. For adults (Fig. 167 in the bladder), two tucks can be made of 1 - 1,5 cm each, 7 - 9 cm long.
It should not be forgotten that the darts on the BP play another very important role in addition to creating a fit: they strengthen the BP pocket.
Therefore, the marking of the pocket of the RFP is “tied” to the marking of the tucks.
The distance from the waist to the pocket for children's trousers will be about 5 cm, from the side cut - 3 - 4 cm, and its length is 10 - 12 cm.
For adult trousers, the distances increase: on top - 7 cm, on the side - 5 cm, and the length of the pocket is 14 cm.

As you can see, the allowance for the fastener is duplicated, the cutting barrel is immediately above the marking line, and the belt is indented by 1 cm.
By the way, in children's trousers, the width of the belt is far from the standards of the butt.
If in adult trousers, in most cases, the width of the belt is “tied” to the width of the bodice, then in children's trousers, to the width of the belt worn by the boy.
For example, the width of the belt is 2,5 cm. This means that the width of the belt in finished form should be 2 - 2,3 cm so that the belt overlaps the belt.
To the width of the finished belt, we must add two allowances of one cm with each side length.
The length of the half of the belt is St + 10 or 12 cm. These 10 - 12 cm include the transitional part in front and the margin for growth in the back.
