Description of the design of the style of the sundress and what to sew
It is a simple sundress, which should be worn over a T-shirt, turtleneck or suitable blouse.
The silhouette is free, a trapezoid. Assembly in the middle part of the PP and ZP skirts.
You can choose the most convenient pocket option or do both at once.
What to sew and how to calculate fabric consumption
The choice of fabric is typical for other boho-style sundresses - linen, poplin, thin denim or chintz.
Thin suiting fabric, dress wool and plaid are also suitable. Of course, this is not for a summer sundress.
You can also use tight stretch with little stretch.
In order to accurately determine the consumption of fabric, it is necessary to decompose the patterns you cut out to the desired size, taking into account the width of the fabric you are going to purchase. Recommended pattern layout for fabric see below.

How to cut a boho-style summer sundress using a simple ready-made pattern.
Cutting this style of sundress is not difficult.
Seam allowances - 1 cm. Exceptions - burlap and bottom. You can not add an allowance to the bottom, but be sure to check the length before cutting and take into account the hem. For burlap - also no allowance is needed.
We fold the fabric in half, aligning the edges and placing them parallel to the edge of the cutting table.
As for the shared thread, you should pay attention only to the position of the skirt skirt - it is better to lay it at an angle to the cut edge (picture 2) so that the middle seam of the RFP is oblique. This direction of the share will compensate for the sagging of the oblique side sections.
We cut the straps with a fold, laying the patterns on the fold of the fabric with a straight cut. Please note that the approximate position of the shoulder seam is indicated on the pattern of the straps, which will help you navigate the fitting.
The “back fragment” detail is with a share along the midline, and burlap can be laid out arbitrarily.
For convenience, you can combine burlap with a shelf detail.
Pay attention to the number of details (picture 2).
The shelf and the fragment of the back are double.
Immediately after cutting, we make notches for pockets by 0,3 - 0,5 cm. These are notches for marking.
Pocket "for the phone" - marked.
Pocket in the side seam - 3 - 5 cm down from the waist - optional. We put all the side cuts together and make a notch to sew the burlap to all side seams at the same level.
How to sew a sundress with your own hands at home - sewing sequence.
- Stitch the burlap without adding 1 cm to their edge. Make more notches. These will be notches for processing. The length of the notches for processing is 0,8 - 0,9 cm, that is, a little narrower than the width of the seam allowance. Overlock between notches. Iron.
- Perform assembly on the PP and ZP of the skirt, sew, overcast and iron out (spreading the allowances) the middle seam of the ZP.
- Overstitch and iron the straps.
- Stitch straps to the “front” “back fragment”, iron.
- Turn over the cut of the RFP of the skirt between the assembly and the side seam (see photo).
- Stitch the “front” “back fragment” to the RFP of the skirt, and the “front” shelf to the PP of the skirt. Iron.
- Stitch the shoulder straps with a “lining” “back fragment”. Iron.
- Overstitch the top edge of the shelf with a “lining” shelf. Iron.
- Now the side cut. We grind through the pocket, then eat "around" the burlap. In this case, the lining shelf can enter the seam "under the line" or "turn" the shelf from the side of the side seam, i.e. all sections are hidden between the shelves. Overcast together and iron the side seams to the back/back.
- The fitting is obtained at the end of tailoring. On it we determine how high the sundress will sit, adjusting the fit with straps. After that, we align the bottom, measuring it from the floor.
- Bottom - in a hem with a closed cut - bend twice. Iron.
- We finish by performing the finishing lines, ironing and fixing the accessories.
