4. How easy it is to cut a summer dress with a clasp and a frill according to the pattern

Before cutting, you should clearly determine the total length of the dress and the width of the frill.

At the same time, the length of the dress pattern can be adjusted in accordance with your desire.

The optimal width of the frill ranges from 28 to 35 cm. This is taking into account the processing of the bottom into a hem with a closed cut (double hem).

You can accurately calculate the width of the frill using the formula:

Finished frill width + 3 cm

The length of the frill should exceed the length of the bottom of the dress by 1,5 - 2 times.

Tie width = 2 finished widths + 2 cm

Length - 50-60 cm.

Seam allowances - 1 cm. The exception is neck cuts, back cutouts and armholes - seam allowances are not added to them.

The dubbing of the collar and facing of the neckline-armhole is cut out exactly according to the patterns of the same name without seam allowances.

Above the tuck, there is a “house” allowance, so that after processing it can be neatly overcast with a side seam.

After cutting, we perform notches at the waist and mark the middle line of the back, the edge of the side and the half-skid (the middle line of the shelf). Marking is done with a thread to keep it until the product is ready.

5. How to sew a do-it-yourself A-line dress at home

The tailoring of this dress is greatly facilitated by a one-piece selection. The sequence is as follows:

1. We carry out duplication of the selection and facing, bend the duplicated selection along the line of the edge of the bead, which is marked on the part and iron it.
2. We grind and iron down the tuck for the chest. We sew the top of the tuck on a tailor's pillow.
3. We process the ties - we grind, turn inside out, vyvyazyvayut, iron, do the finishing line.
4. We baste the selection with large (7 - 8 cm) oblique stitches and sweep the dress for fitting.
5. Fitting. We specify the fit and the position of the ties. Adjust the length if necessary. We outline the loops, if any.
6. Further assembly consists in the processing of the neck and armholes with facings-selection. Do not forget to put strings strictly on the intended places. In this case, the shoulder sections remain unprocessed.
7. We turn the shelf inside out and put the shoulder seams into the shoulder seams of the back, grind, turn inside out, iron.
8. We grind the side seams, back shelves and facings so that the upper section of the seam turns out between the facing and the dress, iron, overcast.
9. We sweep out the loops or simply weave the fastener and sew on the buttons, aligning the middle lines of the back.
10. We grind the frill into a ring, overcast and iron the seams. We process the bottom of the frill with a closed cut (double hem).
11. We carry out the second fitting of a dress without a frill. Task: very accurately align the bottom, since for each figure and each fabric the bottom line will be different, but in any case, the side seams will sag.
12. We assemble the frill, tack and grind. The seam should be overcast and ironed.
