2.1. What to sew a combined trapeze dress from and how much fabric is needed

Any dense, but thin enough fabric is suitable for this model. You can use both woolen and silk or lightweight linen fabrics.

Thin denim, chintz or any dense knit fabric with minimal stretch will do.

Please note that for a floor-length dress and for a dress with a length difference, you should choose a thin and fairly light fabric.

The consumption of companion fabrics for a dress of maximum length will be from 150 + 130 cm to 180 + 180 cm, with a width of 140 cm.

For other lengths, the consumption should be calculated after making the patterns of the desired length and before purchasing the fabric, having completed the preliminary layout of the patterns.

3. How to cut a large and small trapeze dress according to a simple ready-made pattern

The main difficulty in cutting is the choice of the desired length in the drawing.

To facilitate the task, cut out the patterns of the dress of maximum length (picture 1). Then, butt the bottom of the back and the side of the shelf along the side seam and attach the shelf to them butt along the seam of the relief. Choose the desired line, focusing on the shelf and on the back. Cut off the excess.

Further cutting is not difficult - the patterns are laid out on a fabric folded in half in accordance with the shared direction (picture 2).

Seam allowances - 1 cm. Exceptions - the neck and sleeve hem - allowances are not added to these cuts. Add 2 - 2,5 cm along the bottom.

Please note that the pattern of the shelf fits into the fold of the fabric.

The lower part of the back can also be laid in a fold, but it is better if it has a middle seam. It is also desirable that the middle seam of the lower back does not coincide with the lobar thread, as shown in picture 2.

It is advisable to cut out the collar after fitting, when the length of the cut of the neck of the product is known exactly.

The rack can be cut out along an oblique thread, as shown in 2 drawing or so that the share line coincides with the center line of the collar.

4. How to sew a dress with your own hands at home

1. We assemble the back: the upper part from the bottom to make two halves; then, we sew the zipper and process the middle seam. If you want, you can do without lightning. In this case, the middle seam is not completely sewn - 10 cm is left to the neck.
2. We collect a shelf: darts and a barrel.
3. Stitch the side seams. Please note that after each operation, the components of the product should be ironed.
4. We process the sleeves.
5. We carry out the fitting: specify the length; if necessary, we cut the neck and armholes according to the figure; we put on the sleeve and outline three points of joining of the armhole and the sleeve; we knit the sleeve and try it on again.
6. We cut out the collar, based on the length of the cut of the neck.
7. We process the collar.
8. We sew in and sew in the collar, sew in the sleeves and process the bottom.
