Description of the design of the style of the oversized dress with a collar type collar

Patterns of a simple dress with a one-piece sleeve and collar yoke pic 1The pattern is really very simple, as it is made on the basis of a kimono without darts.

The sleeve has no fit and is distributed evenly along the sewing cut. The pattern of this dress is so simple that it doesn't even have an armhole!

The asymmetrical cut of the shelf will not complicate the task of a novice home couturier if you do not use a "lightning". The task of the relief line is to simplify the processing of the patch pocket and make it more “clean”.

Soft folds at the waist of the shelf are needed to reduce the volume that is "attached" to the collar-type collar.

3.1. What to sew a free dress from and how much fabric is consumed

This style is suitable for any season and therefore almost any dress fabric is suitable - from jersey to shirting cotton.

Simple dress patterns for full oversize with a yoke and a kimono sleeve photo 3Is knitwear worth it? Yes, only with little or medium stretch.

The footer is also well suited, of course, the overcoat should not be too thick.

Woolen and linen fabrics will look good in this style if they are soft enough.

Consumption will be from 150 to 270 cm with a sleeve and a product of full length according to the pattern.

To clarify the consumption for a specific size, it is recommended to make a preliminary layout of patterns with a specified length on an existing piece of fabric of the required width or by laying two centimeter tapes (braid or rope) in parallel at the appropriate distance. Layouts for different sizes and for fabrics of different widths are described below (figures 3 - 4).

4. How to cut an oversized cocoon dress with a collar collar according to a simple ready-made pattern

How to cut an oversized dress with a kimono sleeve and a yoke collar figure 2The choice of the size of this model should be approached carefully, because due to the collar, volume is added to the shelf and the dress may turn out to be large, especially if the chest is small. When choosing a size, it is advisable to compare the dimensions of the pattern with the same type of product.

As usual, first check the length of the product and the sleeve. If necessary, we shorten or lengthen the pattern (take the length of a larger or smaller size).

Then, we think about how we will process the upper cut of the collar and, only after choosing the processing method, we proceed to cutting.

How to process the collar?

How to cut an oversized dress with a kimono sleeve and a yoke collar figure 3For some types of knitwear, processing is not required - the collar is twisted into a tube (see photo and picture 3). In this case, the allowance along the upper edge of the collar can be omitted or 1 cm added.

If you want to process the upper cut of the collar, then the best option would be a double collar.

Everything is clear with the back collar - you will need the “upper” (front) and “lower” (back) collars of the back.

And the “lower” (purl) collar of the shelf is cut out one-piece with the “upper” (front) collar of the shelf (picture 2). In fact, this is a hem allowance, as for processing the bottom, to overcast and fold it once. Should I copy the collar of the shelf onto paper, and then apply it to the upper cut? Optionally, you can add a large strip along the width of the collar and cut it exactly after you iron it.

We use the same approach - a wide hem allowance - for the pocket (fig. 2 on the right). We add 3,5 - 4 cm along the line of the entrance to the pocket.

The remaining allowances are 1 - 1,5 cm. Please note that the allowance in the rounding at hand should not be large - no more than 1 cm. And the allowance along the bottom can be increased to 1,5 cm.

Shared thread - along the midline of the shelf, back, sleeve and back collar.

How to cut a cocoon dress with a yoke collar and a one-piece sleeve according to a pattern pic 4If the collar is double, then we cut the lower collar of the back along the oblique (picture 4).

The pocket can be cut in any shared direction, if the fabric allows. The lobar pocket can be located along the entrance to the pocket so that the entrance does not stretch or arbitrarily if the hem along the entrance to the pocket is duplicated.

The question of the fractional direction of the pocket depends more on the taste of the tailor than on technology.

The cutting sequence is very simple - first we cut out large parts (shelf and back), then small ones.

Pay attention to how the fabric is folded for cutting small sizes and for cutting from footer (fig. 3). The fabric is folded in half for the back, sleeve and back collar only. Shelf and pocket patterns are laid on the "face" (or underside) of the fabric to avoid turning over the details, as is usually done for asymmetrical details. In other words, we lay all three asymmetric patterns on the “face” or we lay all three asymmetric patterns on the wrong side.

The layout for medium and large sizes with a fabric width of 140 - 150 cm is shown in 4 drawing. For the back, the fabric can also be folded in half after the shelf details are cut out.

On the 4 drawing shown cutting double collar.

After cutting, we perform notches at the waist, along the fold of the collar and half-slip. We carry out the marking of the semi-skid and pocket lines on the details of the shelf.

5. How to sew a simple loose dress with a collar

  1. We start, as usual, with the processing of the pocket. We duplicate, overcast, iron and fasten the hem allowance at the entrance to the pocket with a finishing line; we sew the pocket along the bottom, laying it on the shelf face to face, iron the seam and baste the pocket with large oblique stitches; we lay the fixing line, which is marked on the pattern and iron it again.
  2. We process the relief with or without lightning. You can insert a piping or braid, or you can sew a zipper, as shown in the photo. Iron.
  3. Finish the collar. If it is double - press the collar of the shelf WITHOUT duplication, and overcast the open section; sew in the top collar of the back, iron the allowances up, overstitch with the bottom collar.
  4. Stitch the shoulder seams, rounding the side sections of the back collar with the collar of the shelves. Tighten the cuts by making notches.
  5. Stitch sleeves, overcast and iron.
  6. Stitch side seams, overcast and close.
  7. Bottom - overcast, bend, stitch, iron.
