1. Modeling a unisex vest in a sports style based on a pattern of a children's vest

As we already know from the article "What is Simulation", they resort to it not only to create a beautiful style, but also to give products greater strength.

And since strength and durability are the main indicator of the classiness of a product in men's clothing, we will consider two examples of modeling a men's vest from this position.

Increase in the selection and depth of the neck in the vest patternFor convenience, we will change the patterns of the vest a little (picture 1).

We will need a wider selection, so we will circle it, making a pattern, increasing the width by 2 - 3 cm. Let's change the depth of the neck so that it is equal to its width.

With these patterns, you can safely start modeling "sports" vests (see the photo).

Let's try to understand the intricacies of cutting and sewing these models, starting with simple questions.

Why did we increase the width of the selection? In order to be able to turn off the edge of the collar in the likeness of a lapel and at the same time the edge of the collar would not be visible.

Why did we reduce the depth of the neck? To use a stand-up collar.

Why do we combine the shoulder seam of the yokes? To refuse the shoulder seam - it is on the shoulders that the vests are torn.

Why do we need relief? Now this is an interesting question!

The relief on the vest plays not only an aesthetic function, that is, it not only slims and stretches the figure, but also helps to solve the problem of a rubber insert in the side part.

And its most important function is to hold the pocket.

Options for cutting vests in a sporty style, as in the photo aboveLet's take a close look picture 2.

The pocket in the relief is more durable and protects the shelf from deformation.

In addition, we can simplify our task by combining the patterns of the middle part of the shelf and the barrel of the shelf with the burlap of the pocket when cutting.

Please note that the selection in these models cannot be one-piece, as there is a zipper between it and the shelf.

Another “subtle point”: the relief should be located from the half-skid to the width of the pocket burlap plus 2 cm.

And, attention! half-skid and the edge of the side are the same here!

And the rest will not cause difficulties.

2. Features of cutting and sewing leather vests

Sewing and cuttingPocket reinforcement options leather products also has its own characteristics.

Consider models of vests, sheepskin coats, presented in the photo.

Horizontal slits help not only to reduce the number of lunges, but also to strengthen the pockets.

The first option offers us a pocket in the yoke seam. The second - strengthens the problematic lower edge of the leaflet (picture 3).

When cutting out the selection of a sheepskin coat, it is advisable to avoid that the additional stitches coincide with the modeling lines of the shelf.

And, let me remind you: when cutting leather, make not only patterns of all parts, but their duplicates (two shelves, two backs, etc.).

Sign the “face” so as not to turn over paired parts and sections.

It is especially important to label slices when modeling to avoid confusion.
