On the back, according to the model, there is an oncoming fold, which adds volume to the product.

3. What to sew, fabric consumption, how to download and print a pattern

3.1. What to sew a loose boho style dress from and fabric consumption

As you know, boho style calls for natural materials or materials that look natural.

Woolen and half-woolen dress fabrics are suitable, both plain-dyed and plaid.

You can use denim, shirt fabrics and thin knitwear with little stretch.

Linen and silk are suitable for both winter and summer - the length of the sleeve can be different.

Consumption will be from 220 cm for the smallest sizes and up to 300 cm for size 64. This is with a long sleeve and for a fabric with a width of 140 - 150 cm. For the 62nd and 64th sizes, a width of 143 - 150 cm is preferable.

In any case, it is recommended to decide on the length of the dress and the length of the sleeve before buying the fabric and perform a preliminary layout of the finished patterns.

4. How to cut a dress - a shirt of large and small sizes according to ready-made patterns

Cutting and further sewing this dress will not cause difficulties if everything is thought out before cutting.

And you should start with the manufacture of patterns and the choice of variations in the style of the sleeve and armhole. The collar can be chosen on the fitting.

On the patterns, in addition to length correction, notches for the pocket should be made. Please note that it is desirable to make the shelf pattern as a whole, while when cutting it is necessary to exclude the lower side fragment (picture 1 – shelf cutting line and picture 2).

In order to cut a “not whole” shelf according to the pattern of a “whole” shelf and then make markings on the details of the cut, you need to make notches-holes in the place of the pocket. On the 1 drawing the places of the holes in the pattern are marked with red crosses.

A whole pattern of the shelf will be needed after assembling the pocket in order to avoid inaccuracies in the subsequent assembly of the product.

Further, the hem of the dress-shirt can be processed as a double hem, which imitates a placket, but for woolen fabrics, a regular one-piece hem is recommended.

A one-piece bead not only greatly simplifies processing and improves its quality, but also makes the bead thin. This processing option is indispensable for single-sided fabrics, while the placket hem is only suitable for thin double-sided shirting fabrics.

To cut out a one-piece band, connect the patterns of the shelf and the band butt.

Seam allowances - 1 cm. On the bottom - 2 - 2,5 cm, depending on the method of processing the bottom.

We do not add allowances along the sleeves, along the armhole and along the neck.

As for the cutting sequence, it is recommended to cut the collar after fitting or after the sides and shoulder seams have been processed. The length of the collar is easier to determine by the length of the neck.

After cutting, we perform notches on the cut details - on the side seams along the waist, and on the side seam of the shelf along the pocket entry line; notches along the armhole on the tuck (if the dress has a tuck; notches along the half-slip (middle line of the shelf); notches on the sprout (neck of the back) - at the border with the pleat; along the rim line - at the highest point.

In addition, we mark on the shelf the position of the pocket, the edge of the side and the half-skid. It is advisable to mark these lines with threads so that they do not disappear after ironing and remain until the product is ready.

5. How to sew a dress - shirt at home - sewing sequence

1. We start by processing the tuck and pocket. We carry out the assembly along the cut of the entrance to the pocket on the lower side part of the shelf. Assembly can be done either by machine or by hand. It is better if there are several assembly lines and they will be located at a distance of 0,2 - 0,3 cm from each other.
2. Then, stitch the burlap-turning along the cut of the assembly, bend the allowances towards the burlap turn and fasten them like this with a machine stitch from the inside.
3. Stitch the burlap-facing with the lower side of the shelf along the “vertical cuts”, without finishing (this is very important!) 1 cm to the bottom of the burlap-facing. Further, we will call what we have done “pocket blank” for convenience.
4. Sew the pocket blank along the cutting line of the shelf and then, continuing the line, along the pocket line, hitting the markings on the shelf. How to stitch? Apply face to face next to the pocket, aligning the marking with the corresponding place of the future seam on the workpiece.
5. A very important point: make a notch in the corner of the shelf in order to grind the pocket along the bottom of the burlap. Stitch the pocket along the bottom of the burlap. Overcast and iron the cut.
6. Stitch the pocket along the side seam.
7. Process the tuck, if any, and iron the pick along the line of the edge of the pick.
8. Compare the shelf with the pattern.
9. Stitch the upper part of the counter fold of the back (10 - 15 cm), iron the fold.
10. Then the sequence will be slightly different. For a sleeve with a fit, we grind the shoulder and side seams. We process the sleeve. And for the non-stop sleeve - only the shoulder. We iron and overcast. The side seams for the non-stop sleeve can be stitched for trying on.
11. Fitting. We adjust the armhole, if necessary. If the sleeve is with a fit, then we sweep it in and try it on again. We choose the shape of the collar by applying patterns.
12. After trying on, we cut out the collar of the desired size, based on the length of the neck. We cut out from dublerin without allowances for seams.
13. We glue the doubler collar onto the fabric, cut it out with 0,7 cm seam allowances. This will be the lower collar. According to it (according to the blank of the lower collar), we cut out the upper collar, adding an allowance of 0,2 - 0,3 cm. Thus, the desired fit of the upper collar is laid.
14. We turn the collar.
15. We stitch the sleeves. Overcast the armhole. If the sleeve is non-stop, we grind and overcast the side seams. We iron the seams.
16. Sweep and stitch the collar.
17. We process the bottom of the sleeve.

18. We process the bottom of the dress into a hem with an open cut (overcast and fold once) or into a hem with a closed cut (double hem). We iron the bottom.
19. Loops and buttons. If this is a dress, then loops can only be swept 2 - 3 from above. Below, the sides are fastened with buttons.
