6. How to cut a dress with an asymmetrical balloon skirt according to a finished pattern

Let's consider the simplest version of cutting from dress jersey.

As you know, when sewing stretch knitwear with a knitted seam on an overlock, no seam allowances are required.

Cutting is performed in two stages - symmetrical parts and separately asymmetric parts. Can be in any orderpicture 2).

Asymmetric details - details of the PP skirt - are cut out on the fabric in a spread. We spread the fabric face up and lay out the patterns on it with the inscriptions up. This is necessary to avoid annoying rearrangements of parts.

To simplify processing, you can make the fastener bar on the skirt one-piece. To do this, add 3 - 4 cm to the hem from the side of the sides.

To cut out symmetrical parts, we fold the fabric in half face inward, if it is convenient to mark on the wrong side of the fabric or face out, if it is easier to mark on the front side.

If the dress is tailor-made for a specific figure, it is advisable to add 3-4 cm to the length of the bodice along the lower cut in order to correct the bodice during the fitting.

7. How to sew a cut-off dress in boho style with your own hands

1. We start by assembling the bodice. We grind the shoulder seams on the overlock, placing a transverse strip of fabric with a width of 1,5 - 2 cm. We iron the seams. We sew the sleeves on the overlock, evenly distributing the round along the armhole. We grind the side seams and the middle seam of the back, iron it.
2. We collect the skirt on the overlocker. We duplicate the selection with a thin stretch doubler, overcast, iron. We sew the burlap pockets and process the side seams. We connect the upper and lower parts of the skirt. Note the clasp.
3. Fitting. We put on the bodice, tie it with a linen elastic band, outline the line of stitching the skirt. Please note that the bottom cut of the bodice may not be parallel to the elastic. It depends on the characteristics of the figure. Sweep the skirt and bodice along the line you have outlined and try it on again.
4. We sew a bodice with a skirt.
5. Processing the bottom into a hem with an open cut - on a sewing machine or overcast, fold, iron and stitch with a double needle.
6. We process the neck with inlay. The width of the inlay is 3,5 - 5 cm, it is cut out across or, if the fabric is striped, it can be cut out along the oblique. The inlay is ironed in half lengthwise, ground into a ring and sewn to the neck with a knitted seam. Iron and sew with a double needle or elastic decorative stitch.
