Patterns for masks
Protective mask patterns four styles. The first two - with a middle seam, the third - with darts, the fourth sewing neoprene.
These free patterns make it easy to sew fabric masks at home.
For sewing the first three styles, you will need any not too thick fabric and an elastic band for the ears or braid / laces for ties.

How to sew protective masks using a free pattern
To correct the size of the mask in the direction of reduction, it is enough not to add allowances when cutting.
But there is no need to increase the size - the mask will cover both the nose and the mouth of even the largest face.
The share thread in masks "1", "2" and "4" can be located arbitrarily, and in the mask "3" - along or perpendicular to the midline.
Neoprene masks do not require seam allowances, except for a minimum (0,3 - 0,5 cm) at the middle seam.
For sewing masks made of cotton or other fabric (except neoprene), you will need a "lining layer" to make the mask double.
Whether additional layers of fabric are needed is up to you, since the denser the mask, the more difficult it is to breathe in it.
In order for the mask to keep its shape, you can duplicate it with interlining or thin doubler, while the thinner the adhesive layer on the duplicating material, the better.
We cut out dubbing without seam allowances.
The order of sewing masks 1 - 3 is as follows:
- Stitch and iron or iron the darts or middle seam on the "top" and "bottom" mask.
- Sew the "upper" and "lower" mask along the upper and lower cut.
- Turn the mask inside out through the sections labeled as “tie points”.
- Sweep and iron.
- Bend the seams under the ties, substitute rubber bands 17 - 20 cm long and sew them on manually or by machine. The length of the ribbons or laces tied “on a bow” is about 30 cm and you will need four of them for each mask.
- Sew off the sections marked as "places of ties" and give a finishing and fastening line along the perimeter of the mask.
The sewing of neoprene masks is limited to the processing of a single middle seam, which can be hand sewn with a buttonhole seam or any machine seam.
In this case, bartacks at the beginning and at the end of the seam are very important.
